The Greenhouse at Bittersweet — Attraction in Town of Medary

When we say we wouldn’t change our venue for anything—we truly mean it. From our first tour to packing up the day after the wedding, The Greenhouse at Bittersweet and its staff were absolutely amazing.

We were initially a little hesitant about putting a bigger portion of our budget toward the venue, but once we saw everything that was included, it felt like such a worthwhile choice. Beyond the stunning space and incredible level of care from the staff, we found that so much of the décor we had been planning to buy or rent was already available onsite. It saved us the hassle of purchasing, packing, and trying to resell things afterward—which was such a relief.

Throughout the planning process, Ann was incredible—meeting with us multiple times, answering every question with patience, and bringing all of my wild ideas to life. She just got the vision and made it happen. She was also super responsive via email, which made communication a breeze.

The weekend of the wedding, the staff truly went above and beyond. Having day-of staff made such a difference—it allowed us to be fully present and enjoy the moment, knowing someone we trusted was keeping everything on track. Whether it was a hiccup with another vendor or an unexpected weather twist (55 degrees in May?!), the Greenhouse team handled everything calmly and seamlessly. They kept the day running smoothly without ever making it feel like our problem.

The Farmhouse next door was another huge plus. It gave our wedding party a cozy, convenient space to get ready together and stay close by, which helped the whole weekend feel more connected and relaxed.

Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue—from how beautiful the space was to how kind and helpful the staff were. And the next morning? Everything was neatly packed and ready to go in our totes—such a gift after a night of celebrating.

We hosted both our ceremony and reception at the Greenhouse at Bittersweet, and did the wedding weekend package and stayed at the farmhouse on the venue. We greatly appreciated the amount of help and guidance that the Greenhouse staff (Ann) gave us in both planning for and day of coordination of the wedding. The decorations provided by the Greenhouse were perfect. We appreciated not having to provide most of the decorations ourselves, rather just the few personalized decorations we wanted. The Greenhouse staff literally took care of everything that needed to be done as far as the venue for the wedding, both in terms of decorating, but also talking with other vendors as they came on site. We could not have had such as smooth wedding without the Greenhouse staff. They fully coordinated rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, with flexibility on what we catered in for supper. Day of the wedding, they walked us through each part of the wedding. When they saw something that needed to be done, they did it. We were fully able to enjoy our time and our day together, without having to also worry about the small details of running a large event (e.g., like filling the snacks bowls). The Greenhouse was also very flexible with us with drink options, we neither of us drink a lot of alcohol or soda. Staying at the Farmhouse was perfect. The house is huge and gorgeous, with plenty of room for 5 families, two of which had young children. The house was very helpful for getting ready without having to feel rushed to get to or from the venue, and allowed us a quiet place to offer to our guests with young children who needed space away from the dancing and music. We are so pleased with our experience with the Greenhouse at Bittersweet, it felt like a short vacation with our best friends and their families, and a fun, casual...

We selected this venue for our wedding and reception in mid-July and could not have been happier. Mary was our coordinator and was great at responding to our questions, as we were not from town. The venue space is beautiful and so different from every other wedding space we have been to in recent memory. Our guests were wowed by the venue and florals. Jen did our florals, and we got nothing but complements about them. Not only that, but Jen has a great eye for design and colors and was able to decorate the greenhouse better than we would have imagined. The property was also perfect with it's different offerings of scenery-which meant we didn't have to leave the venue for photos with our photographer. It saved us so much time. We can't give enough complements to Jen and Mary for being so personable and easy to talk to and assuring our special day went smoothly.
