So around noon today I had arrived to apple hill farm with work.( I work with people with disabilities.) to go apple picking with the guys. We noticed that no one was there and one of our staff went looking for someone. We sat there for 10 mins roughly and shortly after the owner zoomed into the parking area yelling at the staff and the people who we support, saying we were trespassing, threatening to call the police, and when we tried to explain our situation she would not hear it. And kept yelling at us we had to leave. OK fine, we were trying to rush the guys into our vehicles and one of them went up to them with a smile and waved hello and she started yelling into his face saying we needed to leave now. Luckily he is deaf and mute but it was still uncalled for. Every apple orchard in the area my job has ever went to were open daily and we have never experienced this before. The owners were straight up disrespectful and unprofessional. We were directed by management to check it out first before sending more groups to this location. We had traveled over an hour to this place and when we realized no one was there, we were trying to figure out where to go apple picking. The attuide was definitely uncalled for and the owner could have went about the situation in a professional manner. Me and my company will not be supporting this business. This first visit will...
Read moreI went apple picking there with my 2 kids and some friends today. I had just told my son myself to get down as he was climbing a tree when a teenage boy approaches us threatening that if he does it again he would get the owners involved. I work with children myself and the way he said it to my child was not okay. I said to him politely that I can handle my child myself and that it is not necessary to threaten him. We were trying to enjoy some family time and create memories. The story does not end there though, he continued to follow us and we started feeling harassed. As my son was reaching for an apple he stepped on a branch low to the ground and the minute I was going to remind my son not to climb he intervened again. At this point the day was ruined, my child said to me he just wanted to go home. As we came back down I asked to speak to the owner to try and tell her what had happened. It was hard to get a word in as she had already been informed by this kid (who turned out to be like a son to her) and and I was simply trying to tell her that there is a way to speak to people and especially little kids. She actually dared to say: "I find it hard to believe and I'm I'm not saying your lying". What she was saying then still remains a mistery. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree after all. I will not be returning there as the atmosphere was...
Read moreWe went to Apple Hill Farm and it was a complete disappointment. The apples were tiny, with barely any left on the trees or in barrels. Even a worker on a ladder admitted there was hardly anything left to pick and that what was available was small.
When we asked the worker at the front—who sold us the bag—if we could exchange it for a smaller bag worth half the price (which would still leave us short) or for store credit, she was rude and dismissive, saying, “we can’t control how the apples grow.” I wasn’t blaming them for that, just asking for honesty before purchase and a little understanding to make it right. Instead, we were met with attitude and zero care for customer experience.
Unfortunately we didn’t see the small “no refund” signs placed off to the side, not where customers pay, which feels incredibly deceptive. We walked up a huge hill for nothing, wasted over $17, and left with two crying kids—not just from the lack of apples, but from the rude and uncaring way we were treated and spoken to - it really put a damper on our family day. There are plenty of other apple farms to visit—don’t waste your time or money here for no apples and...
