We absolutely love rail trails! Where in the Catskill awaits a relatively new, 2019, 11.5 one-way gem of a trail. We are bicyclists and new that 23 miles was an easy goal. Since we're from North East Pennsylvania we opted to start at the western trailhead in Boicieville. Much history explained on trail-side signage. There are 3 trailheads, one on each end and one near the center giving great access and convienve for many accom-modating options. Also to extend options one may cross the causeway and explore public areas on the reservoirs south shore where we hope to ride next!

Beautiful area with great views. This is an old railroad bed, so the trail is flat and paved. This is a great beginner hike for families, and people of all ages. Excellent for casual bicycling, even with the little ones. Large markers places every half mile along this 'roadway.' Easy to get to, there is a fair amount of parking, with a few handicap spots also. Port o Pottys at the entrance. At one end there are some other trails that link up, we didn't hike those, but I'm assuming they are more traditional trails through the woods.

This gorgeous rail trail is fantastically maintained and beautiful even on a grey day. I love how flat and wide the path is & how many benches there are around to sit in gorgeous spots. I’m a visitor to the area, but if I were local it would be one of the places I frequented most for an ebike ride. The gravel may make manual wheelchair use feel very bumpy/bouncy & would inevitably make your hands very grey with the dirt from the path. Might be better for scooter & electric wheelchair users than self propelling manual wheelchair users.

Wonderful trail. Panoramic open views of the catskill mountains starting at mile 1.75. But views of the mountains and reservoir looking through trees for the first 2 miles. After two miles, just trees but they are beautiful. Gravel surface. Nice surface for running. Plenty of shade. This trail inspired us to fall in love with Boiceville / Phoenecia Chichester and buy a summer home (from Florida) in Chichester. Feels like running in the AC for Floridians. Not overly crowded but popular. There is construction at the beginning including the parking area but that doesn't interfere with the beauty of the trail once you start. And there is still...

Beautiful scenery. Porta potties at the trail heads and mid point. IGA Grocery store that makes excellent sandwiches on the west approach to the trail head, Olive NY side. Restrooms too. google IGA Olive NY. Entrance to the west trailhead parking has alot of construction. look carefully for the parking lot entrance sign. It is immediately next to the construction lot driveway entrance. There was a construction flag man directing traffic there last week. Prolific poison ivy on the long straight stone wall towards the east side of the trail. Posted as such. The views are...
