Louis Engel Waterfront Park — Attraction in Town of Ossining

Wonderful open space riverfront park. It features a large playground with a water feature.

One end of the playgroung is designed for children 2-5 year-olds, the other 5-12 year-olds. I recommend that as a responsible parent, you read all of the safety signs and become acquainted with the park rules. Especially the summer water feature area.

Additionally, the Louis Engel Park has grill pits for family picnics. Lots of benches facing the water and grassy areas for sunbathing or exercising.

It even has a beautiful small beach area eventhough, sadly enough 😲😢 no one can go in the water or fish because the Hudson River has been contaminated by irresponsible and egregious industrial abuse.

Community organisations host many wonderful events such as the Annual Earth Day Fair Summer weekly concerts Fourth of July Celebrations Labour Day festivities And much more... We are a community after all 😄

You can access the riverfront through one of two ramps: At the bottom of Snowden Ave. & Westerly Rd. At the bottom of Secor Rd past the Ossining Railroad Station

Both these ramps are two ways, steep, and have narrow areas and blind spots... so drive or walk...

Stunning View Lakeside Park. The playground is divided into two age groups little kids and grown up kids the big attraction there in the summer is the sprinkler area. There is a beautiful picnic area for barbecue and grass viewing the water even a small Beach area.... On the other hand we didn't like that there was no bathroom around or changing area for the children after they get wet and the playground is not so big..... For sure we will come back next summer with the kids during the year I think it's more of a romantic place to come back with my husband to watch The View and take a nice walk..... We had a birthday celebration for my 4 year old cousin near the playground and sprinklers. The area was pretty clean. They have several grills and garbage cans but could use more as by the end of the day the garbage was overflowing and attracting bees. The playground and sprinklers are perfect for the kids and it's close enough to the picnic area that you can see the children so you don't have to hover over and watch them. I would definitely recommend this park if you have young children especially. There is also icecream trucks that come by very frequently and the ice cream is reasonably priced...
