If you are a resident of Ossining and are disturbed by the "Eye of Sauron" (more like a "sore on eye"!) towering over the riverfront like a humongous alien monster, you need to let your town officials know. I am not a resident of the town, but I do enjoy coming here when I am in the area. Or I did. Since this abomination was installed, the whole atmosphere here is unsettling, to say the least.
There have been numerous news stories about how the town residents largely dislike the thing and would like to see it removed or replaced. However there has yet to be a concentrated popular effort to get it done. I am happy to lend assistance and support, but as someone who lives outside the municipality, I have no standing to take action.

This area was built up and landscaped as part of the Harbor Square Rentals apartment complex at 3 Westerly Road. Similar to its neighbor, the Louis Engel Waterfront Park, the Henry Gourdine Park has open spaces on the Hudson River edge as well as benches and grassy areas.
The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry departs from the Henry Gourdine Park. Visitors also take the ferry ride to restaurants, etc.
To access this area you have to walk or drive west over the Secor Road ramp past the Ossining Train station.

Public transportation is available; Ossining train station is right next to the park, and there are also plenty of parking spaces for cars. Electric charge stations are available.
