Heyworth Mason Park — Attraction in Town of Peru

April 8th, 2024, for the total eclipse, we got up early and headed towards Plattsburgh to look for a park... Or son spotted this gem, so we turned out vehicle around, and parked. We got out of the car, and just fell in love with this beautiful park. We did the whole hike while reading all the facinating facts of the planets, walked from the "end" ok f the mile and a half hike down to the park entrance and pulled out our lunch, found a wonderful picnic table and ate. The park ranger saw us walking to the Grand Union next store, to get a few items, and asked if we had any questions... It was so very kind of him. It's beautiful! I waded in the river for quite a ways... The water is shallow and warm. Sweet and plump Blackberries hug the river side... Minnows floating by my toes and the sun glowing on the stones. A smile on my face, I could feel... I felt so at ease as I smelled the trees through the breeze.
