Used this place 3 times. Once for lunch, where my friend got rotten, slimy, stinky black beans on her salad. Second time , did a takeout- it was ok. I question their veggie omlette that we ordered on 2 separate occasion. It says that it comes with a side of guacamole, but there was a couple of knife scoops of plain avocado. Do you think people don't notice? This morning we went in as a party of 6 with a reservation. When we arrived, we were told that because there were another party of 6, they gave them the table first. We waited outside for 15 minutes, then got invited to sit at the small table that meant to be for party of 4 or 5 max. Then, the waiter brushed this off by saying , it's a "human error" and it "happens". Noone tried to correct the mistake and acted like oh, well take it or leave it. The owner, hovewer, said she is "sorry this happened". Nothing was offered to remediate the situation . Even if the food is ok, because of the service and the attitude, I would not order from them again - takeout or dine in and would not recommend this place to my friends or family. added Since I received a reply to my review and was told that I fabricated the review, Im going to add more details. I was told at the entrance by the hostess that reservation was thought to be for the next day and admitted to having made an error. And it is very strange that now it is presented that nothing wrong was done, and mistakes are minimized to nonexistance. I never used the word "gross" in my original review, but since you decided to quote me here, I will say it that the beans were gross. My friend's salad in my visit during the summertime lunch hour was completely comped because the beans were spoiled, with a strong odor. By the way, we had the same server as today, and you can ask him. It is interesting how now I'm being accused of lying. I'm so sorry that you can't handle the critique of dissatisfied customers and chose to argue and accuse. I have never ever seen good business to do that. I paid my bill, left standard %20 , and now have the freedom to share...
Read moreI’m so glad Peru has this new business. The owners are lovely and the food is next level good, on par and exceeding many far more expensive business in Plattsburgh and the other surrounding areas. Wait-staff were lovely, hospitable, and gave great recommendations. We loved that our waiter was kind, young, and local! It is also beautiful inside and you can tell the renovations were done with so much love! It’s definitely Instagramable I while maintaining a home town feel.
We have the Montre Cristo (French toast, rhubarb jam, and Swiss cheese—a somewhat surprisingly incredible mix!!) and the Icelandic, which were both divine. The whole menu is both accessible and elevated. Apparently these are family recipes which shows because they are PERFECTED!
Any reviews on wait time are premature critiques given they just opened and have been packed (because it is so good!) I hope our community races to support this family with open arms. I feel this could be the new #1 place in town. No, I KNOW this will be the new #1 place in town—at least for me...
Read moreWhile I only saw one car in parking lot at 10:40am Tuesday, and I questioned if it was open like another person did, I did see a small “open” sign and we walked in and they were open. There was only one table occupied, but Rove was filled and people were waiting for a table by 11:15am. I used to work as a breakfast cook. Best OJ I’ve had in years: truly freshly squeezed and not more than 4 hours before, which causes bitterness. French toast, bacon, and eggs Benedict were all high quality and tasty. I really don’t want this place to be so packed I can’t get in because of all the good reviews, but I wanted to: (1) refute the claim that someone else posted in a Google Question that it looked closed and he thought it must be closed after he did not bother to go inside, and (2) let the owners and young man working there know that they are doing an excellent job. Rove is definitely open and the food is better than anyone’s in the greater Plattsburgh area. (It’s...
