So... I have been taking the kids there for years. Went today..told the girl at the counter we just wanted to each pick apples, blackberries and a pumpkin. She said $75 and gave me three tickets. I definitely said " the tickets let us each get to pick all 3?" She said "yes". I went in the car, to the shack I was directed to and gave the man the tickets. He said we could choose only "3" of 2 items...a small bag that would absolutely not hold more than 6 apples and/or a normal maybe 1 to 2 pound container that you usually see in the stores. I told him....that I was told, that for $25 dollars each, I was told that would get to pick the 3 items I mentioned earlier. He not only said "No", but said that the pumpkin wasn't even included and I'd have to pay for that separately. So I held the 6 apple bag and said "so basically this is $25?" He said "yes". Mind you, my boys were present at all times. I took the tickets back inside, thinking it was just a mistake. The girl then said the same thing. I asked for my money back.. and she said.. " I cant give you a refund" unbelievable, but it gets worse. I asked to speak to the manager or owner. She gets him.. I explain that i was first told ( and is still just a reasonable price ) that all 3 of us could get berries , apples and a pumpkin for $75. This is getting too long if a review already. The place was packed so obviously they are making money and dont care. It's just sad that after almost 15 years of taking my boys there.. this very young guy.. gives me an attitude in front of my kids, says things that would maybe have gotten me fired if my boys weren't there. What a narcissistic dude. He belittled me. Has anyone noticed that in businesses, stores, ..lately, people that should be waiting on you .. ignore you? Idk, maybe its just me.. anyway... its Saturday night.. better things to do than stress over this guy!!! Oh.. the girl never gave me a receipt and I never asked. He asked me if I had one , and she said " he said he didn't want...
Read moreI was once a huge fan of this farm. Have spent most Saturdays during the summer for the last 7 years visiting this farm for various activities. My daughter loves to visit this farm to see the animals and jump on the big pillow.
We visited on a Saturday and learned of the new "all inclusive pass" and it's pricing. What a disappointment. I am more than willing to pay $8 for the day for my daughter to enjoy all the activities she wants to there, but I thought it was a bit excessive to ask for $8 per adult for them to walk around and watch her have fun feeding animals and jumping on the pillow. We would have paid $32 plus the cost of food for the animals for about 30 to 60 minutes of fun for one child.
I would be willing to pay the $30 for the season pass for my child....but to have to pay the same for adults to sit and watch seems crazy. We are a family of 3 so the $99 'Named Family of 5 Pass' would be stupid to purchase and buying individual passes would be $90 for the 3 of us.
Also...$3 per person to go down to the u-pick-em fields if you didn't want to get the all inclusive pass?? I figured the excessive pricing for fruit and veggies you pick included the surcharge already...but I guess not.
I did express my disappointment over the 'new and improved' pricing for the farm directly on their facebook page. Management did respond quickly to me about the new pricing plan. In response, I expressed that paying for adults to sit and watch was excessive. They never addressed my response and deleted my post from their page. Guess they don't like real comments on their page. I can't be the only person disappointed.
I just can't figure out if it is greed or if some customers in the past ruined it for the rest of us...
Kelder's Farm has lost a loyal customer....and so many other loyal customers...
Read moreOn Friday I took my family to the farm for the first time, we are from the city and wanted to show my 3 year old her favorite animal, funny enough she didn’t really wanted to see the cow anymore because the donkey won her heart. We spend the whole day there, we started down at the jumping pad, the wooden train, play some time at the sand pile, and we did the obstacle course. After some refreshments we took the kids to the corn barn and relax on the rocking chairs enjoying the cooling breeze. After some time it was time for the main event, time to meet and feed the animals. We headed to the new petting zoo location, and we were greeted by cuteness overload, the baby goats are so eager to eat and be loved on. Then it was time for the baby calf it was the most adorable thing, my daughter was not that into it which was surprising because cows are her favorite, then we moved on to the donkey, he was so cute and just wanted the attention to himself, when we were visiting strawberry the cow on the outside part he started screaming, it was so funny I think that’s when my daughter fell in love with him. After the petting zoo we play some mini golf, afterwards we did some shopping at the market before making our way to do our last activity for the day which was the u-pick fruits and veggies. Fully recommend doing this at the end because the sun is not as bad. Overall, we had an amazing time and we are already looking forward to visiting for the fall season so that my son can do the corn maze, and we can get apples and pumpkins. Thank you Kelder farms for an...
