Carman Farms — Attraction in Town of Rotterdam

Not a farm at all, just a reseller, but that's not the worst part. I choose a quart of strawberries, priced a dollar more than any of the farmer's markets I have been to ($6). He dumped them out to show me the rotten ones on the bottom, then selected another basket for me. WTH? When I got them home, 1/2 weren't ripe yet and the other 1/2 had odd little bites in them and rotten spots. Yuck. No thanks.

When I arrived, I was alone. Two women arrived after me. He obviously knew one (she owns a restaurant, he said five times,) as he helped her first. Then he helped the next woman, leaving me for last. The restaurant lady asked for broccolli rabe, and he went in the back to get some for her. I said "That's my husband's favorite! I'll take some too!" Nope, none for me.

He also promised me some rhubarb that never materialized. What a strange little place, with a fast talking guy running it. Not well. I...

The only reason I'm giving five stars is becausehe's usually honest with me and I had some great food from there. But this time I'm not happy and I will be returning my watermelon that he said was a real watermelon. Seedless is not real and I told him that.
