Lenz Winery — Attraction in Town of Southold

We went to Lenz as part of our wine tour for our friend’s 40th birthday. The wine and staff were decent. What upset me the most is that after our tour was over, we waited for our ride inside. We were told that we were no longer allowed inside and had to wait outside in the freezing, windy, cold weather. To me, that is unacceptable and unkind. There were only two of us who were willing to purchase more wine but after that, we were only allowed to take warmth In the bathroom across the way from the actual vineyard, where I am writing this right now. Where is your kindness and compassion? Lenz allowed two young women to be out alone in the cold. Really?? Unacceptable. I will never support this vineyard again. IFI could give this place a -5 I would. From the SECOND we walked in to the second we left the staff was So nasty. They are so unpleasant and miserable they made this experience so awful. We prepaid for a tasting and every time our waitress came over she mumbled, talked fast and walked away before Finishing her sentence we had no idea what we were drinking. We were a party of 10 asked if we could be seated tables next to eachother and they told us it wa a against state law due to COVID meanwhile 8 minutes later they say another party there........

I made it my absolute mission the find the best winery during my 3 weeks in Greenport. I began my search by posting polls in local Facebook groups. I received over 150 votes from locals. Once I had the results, I spent the next 3 weeks visiting each one in the top 10. Lenz was #6 on the list of votes, but was by far the best of the vineyards I visited. I ordered all their flight options and a few tastes of wines that seemed interesting to share with my group. They had a great selection of affordable to expensive. All were incredible and interesting. I was also floored by the quality of their less expensive wines. I couldnt help but leave with a variety of bottles. (Also, get the chocolate pairing!)
