Pindar Vineyards — Attraction in Town of Southold

The vineyard is absolutely beautiful and the wines are great but I am very disappointed in the staff and a particular incident that happened while at the vineyards. I went with a group of friends who were of different ethnicity's which I didn't think would be an issue being it's 2023. The first issue arose at the wine tasting bar. Me and my boyfriend approached the bar very politely as it was our first time ever at a wine yard and the woman bartender spoke to us as if we were a bother. She put the sheets down and told us to pick 5 choices and walked away. We truly didn't know what we were doing as we weren't wine drinkers and we thought the bartender would've helped, apparently not. We handed our sheets in and the bartender made our flights across the bar, not even in front of us like she did for every other customer. She also made a remark about my boyfriend smelling like pot which shouldn't have been said, it was rude and unnecessary. She took our payment and went on to the next customer not giving us a receipt or anything. She clearly didn't want anything to do with us because her demeanor was not the same for other customers. We didn't let it bother us and continued to enjoy our time there listening to the live band until another patron approached our table and asked us if we knew this was band was going to be playing and if we were disappointed. Insinuating we didn't enjoy that type of music because the table was majority African american. We expressed how much we enjoyed the band and the patron went on to state that the band played "black magic" just for my friend who is of African american origin. It honestly left a horrible taste in my mouth that my friends were subjected to such ignorance and subliminal racism. Very upsetting and I can't say I will...

Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY, is a gem in the heart of the North Fork, radiating some of the best vibes in the region. As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by the sprawling vineyards that set the stage for a memorable experience. The tasting room is spacious and inviting, with a laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.

I highly recommend visiting Pindar Vineyards for a tour and/or tasting! And I write very few reviews so when I do, it’s because I was blown away by the experience 😉. Our group of six was interested in a tour to learn about the wines and winemaking process, in addition to tasting the wines. After contacting at least 10 wineries on the North Fork and striking out with each one, I was told that Pindar is one of the few that offers tours. And they were the only winery able to accommodate us on short notice (24 hrs) - which was especially gracious since they’re in the middle of harvest season!

Nancy took my call and was happy to schedule a tour for the following day, followed by a tasting. She could not have been nicer! Meeting Nancy in person and learning from her about Pindar’s operation and their wines was an extraordinary experience!! She is super knowledgeable, friendly, and the most gracious host. We learned ALOT during our tour. And she does a great tasting experience, as well. She is a super lady!!

I can’t say enough about how welcome Nancy and everyone else at Pindar made us feel. And the wines are really wonderful as well. Whether you prefer reds, whites or sparkling wines, there is something special for you at Pindar. We finished our visit by sharing a bottle on their lovely outdoor deck while watching the sun set.
