A Hidden Gem on Long Island: One Woman Winery
Long Island’s North Fork has long been known for its wineries, but One Woman Winery stands out as a true treasure, capturing the heart of wine enthusiasts with its exceptional vintages, authentic charm, and unparalleled hospitality.
Unlike many large-scale operations, One Woman Winery embodies the essence of a family-run business. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with warmth that feels like you’re stepping into a cherished family tradition. The cozy tasting room is often staffed by the founder’s daughter, whose knowledge, passion, and friendly demeanor elevate the experience. She takes the time to guide each guest through the story of the winery, the unique terroir, and the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into every bottle.
Speaking of the wine—wow. Long Island’s wine scene is increasingly crowded, but One Woman Winery’s offerings are a cut above the rest. Their focus on small-batch production means every sip is a revelation. From their crisp, mineral-driven whites to the complex, elegant reds, every wine tells a story of dedication and authenticity. If you’re lucky, you might even try one of their limited releases, which perfectly showcase the winery’s ability to make art in a bottle.
What truly sets One Woman apart, however, is its customer service—a rare gem on the East End these days. Many wineries in the region seem to have let their standards slip, prioritizing quantity over quality when it comes to guest experience. Not here. At One Woman, guests are treated with care, attention, and genuine hospitality. Whether it’s a detailed wine recommendation or a simple, welcoming smile, the team consistently goes above and beyond to make every visit unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a winery that delivers more than just great wine—a place where you feel valued, inspired, and a part of something special—One Woman Winery is an absolute must-visit. It’s a beacon of quality and tradition in the heart of Long Island wine country, and its dedication to excellence will keep you coming back for more. Cheers to the family and staff who has made this place so...
Read moreSorry for the lower rating but this is just an opinion of an inexperienced 'wine taster' and has nothing to do with the quality of wine but rather the experience of the tasting. After seeing the high ratings from others I chose this place as our first stop (party of 4) for our wine tasting after having lunch in Greenport. I have never been to a vineyard before so my expectations were based on just things I've heard (like it's a thing a bridal party may do....?). It was a beautiful day and I imagined sitting outdoors relaxing, enjoying the views and sun while tasting my flight of wines. We enter a darkish 10 x 20? shed with one girl behind a bar. She was friendly enough and knowledgeable about the wines and winery etc. Maybe I shouldn't have let on this was my first tasting.....we expected to take a flight of 4 wines outside and enjoy them in the sun. She basically said that we would have stand there and have them one at a time at the bar. I wasn't enjoying standing in this small room so I decided to only taste 2 wines and use the restroom while my group had their 3rd and final. The bathroom was a 'port a potty' about 20 yards away which I wasn't crazy about using but it served it's purpose. I did see other people having a glass of wine outdoors so if you know what you like in wines and don't mind the bathroom facilities then you may like this winery. I was a bit baffled about how popular these wine tasting were based on this experience until I visited a few others (laurel, clovis, sparkling, jason, pindar) which were more...
Read moreOne Woman is the best highlight of the entire north fork wine trail every time we visit. Vibe is very different from the typical big tasting room wineries, and so is the tasting, but we really like it. They have set up outdoor private yurts for tasting (with heaters for the winter) and it was SO enjoyable! At ~30 degrees outside, we were in the yurt tasting happily and toasty. Tasting in their tiny house used to be an experience, but this was very nice and pandemic-conscious. Tasting wise, some of our favorite wines on the island, an incredible gewurtziminer (every year), beautiful oaked chard, and an incredibly cool Boudreaux style...
