East End Bagels, the charming little bagel store nestled in Southold's North Road, is a true gem that has become an integral part of our family's summer tradition. This delightful family-owned and operated deli has mastered the art of crafting their own delectable bagels and cream cheese, making it a haven for bagel enthusiasts and breakfast lovers alike.
As soon as we arrive in Southold for the summer months, visiting East End Bagels becomes a ritual we eagerly anticipate. The aroma of freshly baked bagels wafting through the air is enough to awaken the senses and whet the appetite. The warm and inviting atmosphere adds to the overall experience, making each visit feel like a homecoming.
The bagel selection at East End Bagels is nothing short of impressive. While my son swears by their perfectly toasted and slightly crispy egg bagels, the rest of our family can't resist the temptation of their delectable cinnamon raisin bagels. Our friends who join us for a weekend getaway have become ardent fans of the everything bagels, boasting about their irresistible blend of flavors.
But the real star of the show is the freshly made cream cheese that complements the bagels exquisitely. I have a soft spot for the walnut raisin cream cheese, which is an absolute treat, boasting a delightful balance of sweet and nutty flavors. Each bite feels like a gourmet experience, and it's hard to resist indulging in seconds.
Beyond the exceptional food, the staff at East End Bagels plays a crucial role in making this establishment truly outstanding. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to serve. The staff is not only cordial and professional but also exudes a sense of camaraderie that makes you feel like you're among friends. Their passion for their craft is evident in the care they put into each order, making it an all-around enjoyable experience.
The word about East End Bagels' excellence has spread like wildfire among our friends who visit us during the summer. Many of them have now become loyal patrons, and they, too, embark on a pilgrimage to this quaint deli every time they return to Southold. It has become a tradition for our extended circle to gather around the breakfast table, indulging in the heavenly bagels and cream cheese, and relishing in the memories we create together.
If you find yourself in the North Fork area, East End Bagels is an absolute must-stop destination. Read moreI was born and raised on Long Island but somehow ended up in Austin Texas. Whenever we manage to make it back home, there’s only two things I must have – and one of them is the breakfast sandwich at East End Bagel (pizza is the other, as if you had to ask) – if you’re not from the Island you just don’t understand exactly what a breakfast sandwich is supposed to be, and the one at the East End is the one I come home to. The morning crowd is brimming with Long Island accents (God I miss that … ask for a cawfee, light and sweet, in Austin and they look at you like your from another planet), the staff is excellent, and the breakfast sandwich is the perfect blend of over just easy enough egg, crisp bacon, and cheese. Oh yes … and the bagels – don’t get me started on the bagels – best on the east end, maybe best in Suffolk Co. Can’t wait to make...
Read moreThis place is just not good. Awkward staff, unfriendly, unpleasant, bagels aren’t great, eggs are overcooked with too much cooking spray which makes them taste gross, and the woman who cooked my eggs handled cash then touched my eggs and didn’t change her gloves. I asked for coffee and she made me wait until my order was done rather than just pouring the damn coffee. Also takes forever to have your order taken. Given this place too many chances and won’t be back. The place across the street is better in every way, friendly staff, and way better quality food...
