Slick Disc Music Inc — Attraction in Trenton

My best friend and I visited this establishment several times during the COVID19 pandemic and this was the 1st and last time that we will ever be and feel disrespected again. We first started going to Slick Disc back in June of 2020. The staff was friendly, helpful and they had a nice variety of music. We were taught that the 1st impression is important and they made a good impression on us. So yes we kept going back. But today (Monday, January 18, 2021, we were DISRESPECTED in one of the worst ways possible. As soon as we walked into the store, an older lady that worked there demanded that we use the sanitizer right away. Now with the pandemic going on and the new strands that has come about we didnt take it the wrong way. My friend instantly used their sanitizer that they had at the counter and I used my personal supply. As we were walking around looking for records to purchase, we noticed that the variety of music has decreased TREMENDOUSLY. In other words their selection didnt target BLACK people as well. In addition to the music selection, we noticed that other people were coming in and no one barked at them and demanded them to use sanitizer right away. We looked around and as usual for the Trenton area, we were the ONLY BLACK people there. So with the DISRESPECT that was given to us, we turned around and left the store. We didnt make a fuss, disrespect anyone, because one we ARE better than that and why waste our ENERGY on someone who is highly IGNORANT and too OLD to know any better. We were taught that our money can spend anywhere and Slick Disc has truly lost a VALUABLE customer. We gained by not spending our money. They've lost by losing valuable...

Let me start by saying I love slick disc, I've been going there since I was really young and my brothers would go there to get skateboard equipment. I went in there yesterday to see what the price was for a Captive Bead Ring(An earring), and one of the employees(Seemed to be the only one there), and although having a bit of an attitude with me, Helped me and took out the tray of jewelry and asked which one I wanted the price for. I picked one up and showed it to him before setting it back in the box. I told him I didn't have enough(Five bucks for a small steel 16g cbr), and told him I would come back when I had more money, and immediately he asked me what I did with it(Despite that he was right in front of me and clearly saw me set it back in the tray), when I told him I had set it back in, he repeatedly asked if I was sure. After asking him If he wanted to check my pockets he very rudely answered no. I was really upset because I love slick disc and the whole atmosphere. Not sure I will be going back after the way I was treated.

Last week Friday I had the Great Opportunity of meeting the Crew of Special People that make Slick Disc Music 🎼 🎶 🎵such a Desirable place to purchase your music needs! My friend from Lapeer MI informed me that a New Release Album was available at Slick Disc Records. The New Release was by WLLZ Radio out of Detroit featuring Ted Nugent’s performances at Cobo Hall and various other venues! My friend Bill who is an avid Nugent Follower asked me to purchase an album for him, so I did!

I’m Very Happy 😆 to say I met some Wonderful People, Rob (owner), Barb and Casey (Sales Consultants) who were so very professional, helpful and knowledgeable! They made me feel a home, relaxed 😎 with NO PRESSURE TO BUY ANYTHING!

I found the store to be VERY ORGANIZED and Very Clean Not Cluttered! My photos of the shop will back up my claims! Lots of parking 🅿️ Handicap Accessible! The staff is very professional and organized, Not Very many shops have their inventory accessible by computer!
