Wildflower heaven. We were on the PCT, heading south toward Tinkers Knob, doing roving trail magic. I have hiked this trail numerous times and it never fails to delight my senses--sight, sound, smell, touch . . . just a wonder walking through the forest to Roller Pass (check out Donner Party information) then up to the ridge with views of Donner Lake, local ski area, and eventually Lake Tahoe. You are walking the ridge with 360 degree views for miles and I simply love it. There's the Benson hut to visit, take a break if you want. I also recommend a point to point from Donner Summit to Squaw Valley. A wonderful...

It's a beautiful and clean hike. Moderate to strenuous.. your reward would be to sit at 8,243 high and watch Donner lake and all the natural beauty you can enjoy. I couldn't help myself thinking GOP folks would want to open a McDonald's there and trash it. Anyways.. please go on as many wonderful hikes, like this one, as you can.. simply because you can. And nobody else can do it for you.. all this nature and beauty was created for you by the God.

Its an hour drive from Roseville and parking can be little hard if you go late. We went at 9:30 in Saturday and grabbed...

It starts behind Mary Lake, and zig zags you all the way to the top of Mt Judah or Donner Summit as you pass through Sugar Bowl ski resort. The views along the way are out of this world. I would categorize this as a moderate hike and a must visit trail in the...
