Maricopa Point is the second of the viewpoint stops you can make along the Hermit Rest Drive and Rim Trail when leaving the Grand Canyon Village towards Hermit's Rest. It is part of a cluster of three viewpoints within close proximity to each other, including stops at the Powell Point and Hopi Point. From this viewpoint you have spectacular scenes towards the North Rim and eastward into the Grand Canyon. You can reach the Maricopa Point by car, shuttle bus which stops here or by walking the Rim Trail. Note: There is somewhat limited parking space here. If full, just wait a minute and you should be fine. This is one of the quick stops along Hermits Road.

Maricopa point is a beautiful view point on the southern rim of Grand Canyon. Walking on the trail from Bright Angel trailhead to Hopi point, we stopped here to enjoy the breathtaking views of the canyon. With rain clouds hovering over the canyon and some even dropping in to the canyon the views were simply superb. Could see hikers in the canyon traversing through bright Angel trail. Park shuttles stop here on the way to Hermit’s rest. We were able to see deers and blue jays close to this point. They have put up a marker to show the age of the rocks and when the earth was formed. What a wonderful world! 😍❤️

Amazing views! The second stop on the west bound "red" bus you can ride from the hotel "village". This stop features a short walk to a vantage point. This is not a stop that returns you to the visitor center however. You must ride further west one more stop to Powell point before being able to board an eastbound bus
