I grew up in Tulsa but I had never a chance to tour cave house until one afternoon quite a while ago when I was driving by after dropping off my 3 godchildren and lucked out. There was a sign out saying open for tours or something like that and I even saw a few people on the lawn.... I was not going to miss my chance so I executed an immediate illlegal U-turn I was so damn excited. She was kind enough to let me follow along with the tour she had already begun and then go around with me alone to show me what I had missed. I had tried to tour this house thousands of times in my life and now I'm getting my own private tour... I was thrilled! I am a Grade A+ geek which means I am full of useless, random information and bizarre facts. But, my weird Tulsa history knowledge turned me into the obnoxious little kid asking bunches of questions which went well beyond the scope of the house and I cannot explain how grateful I am that she put up with me! Lol!!! I got so excited that I must have been asking her questions for an hour as well as inspecting and photographing the amaxing engineering of many of the simple but truly unique creations within the home. Even when I finally was able to stop asking questions and tear myself away from this little world of intrigue and wonder, I was already planning a return trip to the cave house for the next month. At the time my 3 young godchildren loved to go to musuems and cultural events with me. The cave house had been on our "Musuem Day" bucket list of places to visit, tour and learn about. (I am not making this up. Once a month I took 3 people under the age of 10 to spend half the day exploring the entire Philbrook musuem and its grounds. Next, we'd go somewhere for lunch or go to Woodward park for a picnic. Then to finish the day we would visit a landmark or a cultural event or an arboretum, etc. I'm proud to say that my godkids loved these days.) Before I left the cave house that day we were trying to set-up a follow up visit so I could bring the kids to see this awe inspiring menagerie of truly unique treasures. It was a couple of months later when I brought my 3 godchildren to see the cave house we all left there buzzing with excitement. Afterwards, we spent the whole afternoon at the library to learn more about the Tulsa history which our lovely tour guide sparked so much interest in...

The Cave House is one of the most unique and fascinating attractions I’ve ever visited. From the moment you see its whimsical exterior, you know you’re in for a special experience. The architecture is truly one-of-a-kind, resembling something out of a fairytale with its quirky shapes and cave-like appearance.

Inside, the tour is equally captivating. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history and mysteries surrounding The Cave House. She shares fascinating stories about the house’s past, including its rumored connection to prohibition-era tunnels and hidden secrets. Her storytelling brings the place to life, making the visit both educational and entertaining.

The interior is filled with quirky decor, eclectic antiques, and charming details that spark curiosity and imagination. Every corner has a story, and it’s a joy to explore each room, learning about the local history and legends tied to this unusual house.

I visited on a weekday and had no wait time, which allowed for a relaxed and personalized tour experience. I highly recommend buying tickets in advance, as tours are typically limited in size to maintain an intimate atmosphere.

Overall, The Cave House is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply a fun and unique experience. It’s truly a hidden gem in Tulsa that offers a delightful blend of mystery, history, and charm. Don’t miss it if you’re...

This was my favorite part of my 3 week trip to Oklahoma. We found this house on Tripadvisor and were intrigued because of how unique it is and the rich history with this home. The home was part of prohibition, and there are tunnels underneath and around the home where people used to transport alcohol. The home once belonged to a woman of Native American and African American descent and her husband who were extremely well-known and generous to people in the community who were less fortunate than them. The wife was a very odd person and loved collecting keys. A lot of people have brought their keys to leave them at the home as a token of remembrance and to leave a little memento behind. This home has SOOOO much history that it is impossible for me to explain all of it in this review. I HIGHLY suggest for anyone to go on this tour. The woman who currently owns the home, Linda, is eccentric, fun, and kind. She makes this more than just a regular tour about a historic home. Her bubbly and unique personality will live on with that house forever. All my friends greatly enjoyed...

My wife and I had never been to Tulsa, OK. We were close by and decided to go check out the town. I Googled things to do in Tulsa and kept finding the Cave House. We decided to give it a try. It was our first stop in Tulsa. We were both so glad that we went. The Cave House is awesome and so is the owner, Linda. She is very happy, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the house. We enjoyed the tour so much that we returned inside to speak with Linda some more after it was all over. She was gracious enough to sit with us and tell us more stories about herself and about the house. She is a very interesting person that we recommend everyone have the pleasure of meeting. Thanks for literally giving us lifelong memories to talk about from Tulsa, OK Linda. We will not forget it. We wish you the very best and hope that the Cave House is in your family for generations to come.

Linda is lovely and her little house is such a quirky, cool part of Tulsa history! What to expect - Call or text to make an appointment The tour is approximately one hour The first part of the guided tour is sitting in the living area and Linda goes through the history of the home and old photos. Takes about 40 mins and she is a great story teller. The second part of the tour is going through the house, which is very small but lots to look at. The staircase is a "drunkard staircase" with uneven steps but there is a handle to assist. Lots to look at in the house, very kitschy and unique. Some antique and upcycled folk art type of stuff. At the end of the tour Linda will take your picture inside the house and outside of the house. She accepts cash and credit for the tour. She prefers cash and she was so sweet we gave her a little extra.
