This place is so unsafe for younger kids for multiple reasons, the place is dirty and most of the staff have a major attitude problem including the manager Jackie. Our family went there on Saturday with excitement and left so disappointed. Half of the parents there don’t even supervise their kids and are just sitting on their phones which is where we ran into our problem. My husband was with my daughter and my 5 year old son wanted to go to a different part of the facility where the netted area is. I walked with him and I stood right next to the opening of the net. My son walked in to get a ball, found one on the ground and then picked it up. I saw him look up to see where I was at to play and before I could even take a step a boy in a gray shirt with dirty blonde hair who had to be a least 11 and already had a ball in his hand came over, jerked the ball out of his hands and with both balls shoved my 5 year old so hard he landed on his back. I instantly yelled “hey! Absolutely not!!” and went straight in to help my son up from the ground and while I was doing that the kid says “yeah well he took my ball” and ran off. This kid was at least double the age and probably triple the size of my kid and of course what were the women doing who he was with….not supervising the kids they brought and at the other side of the facility talking to each other. I didn’t go get any staff because 1. They all are incredibly young with attitudes and you can tell that right away when you walk in there. 2. I was more concerned about my son who is on the spectrum with ADHD having a full blown meltdown over this. My priority was making sure he was ok! We stayed for a little longer after this and then left. That night my son couldn’t sleep because he kept telling me the back of his next was hurting very bad. I couldn’t even touch the back of his neck without him almost crying. I was so upset about what happened and felt I could have handled the situation better so I contacted them as soon as they opened and spoke with Jackie. It honestly was such a waste of time. The first thing she said is “did you get any staff” I told her no and exactly why I didn’t but I agree I should have. She said she’d review the video tape and get back to us in an hour. After 2 hours she finally called us back but we were in the middle of something and I said can I call you back in 10 minutes tops and she said ok but that she was busy. It took was until 5pm to reach her. The first two times we called we were told she was busy, then the next time told she was on break and would call us back (which she didn’t) and the final time we were told she was gone for the day but apparently she was still there so we were finally able to reach her. She told me she reviewed the tape and didn’t see anything which if she reviewed them she would have clearly seen what happened! Her exact words were “what do you want me to do, hunt down the family” and that she could only contact the family of the boy if they were members. What a bunch of BS! My son was basically assaulted by their customer and this is the attitude we get?! She then said “so you’re upset your son got hurt playing dodge ball?” HE WASN’T PLAYING DODGE BALL IN ANYWAY. Then to add insult to injury she says “so you’re telling me with open fists this kid hit yours” excuse me but I don’t care if it was open fists or not, this kid out of anger hit my child. Then she has the nerve to accuse me of not supervising my kids. Had she actually watched the video she would have seen there was not one single time my husband and I were not with our kids. There was not even an apology, just absolute horrible customer service and attitude. I took our son to the doctor, we were told the boy shoved him so hard he had whiplash. The pediatrician called this facility a “menace” and had some other choice words. We paid $140 for this trash hole just for my kid to get hurt and we were not even offered our money back to cover the doctor bill. Jackie told us she’d review the camera again and contact us which...
Read moreI am leaving the review to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding the recent charges applied to my membership account. Upon returning, I was surprised to learn that I had been billed for several months during which I did not utilize the facilities at all. Instead of restarting the membership upon my return, I was told that I am responsible for payment covering the months my wife was absent and not benefiting from any services. This raises several serious concerns: Transparency of Charges – The advertised membership rate was $27.99, yet I was charged $90. At no point was this discrepancy explained or disclosed. Fairness of Billing – I did not access, use, or benefit from the facilities during the period I was away. Continuing to charge for services not rendered, and then requiring payment of those past months to resume access, does not align with reasonable business practices. Lack of Clear Policy – Nowhere in the agreement or advertisements does it state that memberships will continue to accrue charges when the facilities are not in use, nor that members would be forced to “catch up” on missed months in order to continue. Respectfully, this practice feels misleading, inconsistent with the advertised terms, and risks undermining customer trust. Most businesses—whether gyms, subscription services, or otherwise—allow members to cancel and rejoin rather than requiring back payments for unused time. I ask that this matter be addressed immediately by: • Providing a full explanation for the $90 charge. • Correcting my account to reflect only the agreed-upon membership rate. • Reconsidering the billing for the months when no services were used. If this issue cannot be resolved fairly, I will have no choice but to escalate further, including disputing the charges with my financial institution and sharing my experience with the appropriate consumer protection channels. I value health, fitness, and community, but I also expect transparency and fairness. I urge you to review this matter promptly and provide a resolution that reflects the professionalism and integrity your...
Read moreMy son has a blast every time he comes to Defy (aka. Boomshaka), whether he comes alone or with a buddy. His favorite area is dodgeball. He had his 8th birthday party at Defy, as well as his most recent 13th with 2 of his friends. The cost is $15 +tax/1 hour. Defy offers a monthly plan that saves quite a bit of $ provided you're able to make it to Defy at least twice that month. It pays for itself after the first or second visit during that month. I believe the cost is between $20 and $30/month, which is paid for with credit or debit card during enrollment and is billed as a recurring payment for each month thereafter until canceled. Occasionally, Groupon offers a membership at a discounted rate for the initial 1 - 3 months. Each jumper is required to wear "Grip" socks, which are available for purchased on location for $3/pair. Snacks and drinks are also available on location for an additional charge. Restrooms are available to the public. Jumpers of all ages are welcome to participate. Each jumper is required to have a signed waiver on file which is active for 1 year. Waivers must be renewed annually. Waivers for minors (anyone 18yo) are required to have an adults signature/authorization. Adults (parents, caregivers, persons 18+, etc) are allowed/encouraged to purchase a "flight ticket," however active participation is not required for a parent/guardian to spectate. Each person with a valid ticket is given a colored bracelet. Each color represents a different hour on the clock. Times start on the quarter hours (15, 30, 45 and 00). When your bracelet color is called, your time has expired and you must vacate the jump arena. Parents or guardians who do not wish to jump, but would like to stay are given a pink bracelet, which allows them access on the jump floor. Shoes are not allowed on the trampolines at any time.
I hope that this helps anyone who might need some info or that has not been to...
