EDIT: Apart from my initial experience, I was contacted by the owner and he offered an opportunity to make things right. He took the time to educate my wife and I of the process, showed us all of our options, walked us through the different materials, sinks, finishes. He really went all out. At the end of the day, I would recommend this company, I love to be able to share my positive experience and be able to support a local company in my community.
From start to finish, we got phenomenal attention to detail, we weren't pressured, we were just given the most information to make the best decision for out home. The counters, the backsplash, the demo and the install was all beyond expectations. They really know what they are doing!
ORIGINAL: I am a new homeowner and looking to update the countertops in my home, kitchen and two bathrooms. I would consider myself a solid DIY'er but have never taken on countertops, hence my reaching out for some help and guidance. I was asked to take measurements of existing countertops so we could get a general idea of the amount of material needed and cost. My wife and I hadn't picked a material (like I said, we have never done this before) and wanted to get more information on the process and what all was included and needed to make this happen.
I spent the better part of an hour taking measurements and drawing out the layout of our kitchen and two bathrooms on engineering paper and send those in with what else we are needing done (ie. install, sinks, etc). Instead of an email response, I was met with a phone call from Scott Foreman saying that what info I had provided was "not helpful at all" and that I "didn't clear anything up for him". He was extremely unprofessional and condescending. I hadn't even had to chance to make it into the door to look at samples and I never will. He made me feel small, stupid and that my business wasn't worth his time.
I don't know if this company does mainly larger, development level work and if they don't normally handle smaller jobs. But I would recommend anyone over them, I'm not going to pay to go through that, it's just not worth it. I wish I was the type of person to be able to tell Scott off over the phone, but I just cant. Hopefully this helps people out, because they...
Read morePros: Prompt reply to our request for an installation quote. Helpful salesman. Cons: installation was a nightmare. Never was there a mention that they would cut the granite in our home. They had us bring the sinks to their shop for the fabricating. On the packet of paperwork (aka fine print), on the second page of 31 things to note was a bold "There will be dust during installation". Ok, good to know. Not "we will be cutting granite in your home and it will cover everything". Not sure if they normally do this, but they did in our case. I even called the salesman to ask about how to prepare. I told him I was going to take the items out of the drawers and such and he said just putting a towel down over the items would be fine. So again, not sure if most installs are in new construction?? Ours was countertop replacements. I found this company on Google and they had great reviews, which is why I went with them. Once I signed the contract, I contacted them to ask about the process and the time frames. I found that I needed to call and ask the questions, but once the install was complete, they finally kept calling me! For payment. We had to completely ultra-clean almost everything in our home; vacuumed, then mopped, same with all the cupboards, walls, etc., vacuumed first, then washed. All pots, pans, dishes from those cabinets had to be washed, etc. This dust is fine and abrasive! They even wiped the dust out of some of the Teflon pans and marred them because of the abrasiveness. They didn't even vacuum the piles of dust from under the sink! It was unreal...not to mention dangerous to breathe! Would I recommend this company? I'm not sure. Be warned, ask specifics about how they are going to install. We would have put up plastic sheeting and prepared our home if we had had any idea that they were going to be cutting rock...
Read moreGranite Gallery did our kitchen and bathroom counter tops. Unfortunately we were so displeased with the customer service that we received. Our install date got pushed back and we were only notified when we called to confirm, the templating appointment took twice as long as we were told (which was very inconvenient due to needing to be out of the house because of COVID), they told us they would line up a plumber and did nothing until the before our instal which resulted in us not having a kitchen sink for two days with two very young children, they forgot to mill one of the pieces of our counter that I specifically asked about, and after communicating extensively about milling down the thickness of our backsplash, it was installed before I could see they had simply not done the milling at all. To say the GG dropped the ball on so many things is an understatement. The front desk person knew nothing about the business and could not answer simple questions and also sent me a payment confirmation before making sure my payment went through then had to call me back to get my info again. The worst part about all of this is that Scott never took any responsibility or apologized once. After battling with him over the phone about things the best he could do was give us less a quarter of a percent off our bill as if that made it all fine. A little apology and taking responsibility would have resulted in a much better review. I also had a family member who used GG for a small project and also had a lot of issues including them loosing their slab! I would not recommend this...
