What can I say... Spring Park is a beautiful place to spend a sunny summer day, or any day in any season, for that matter! I took my beloved dog, Cali the catahoula (my faithful friend of 14 year... and counting) to the stone steps that go down into the water, near the falls, and let her lay down on the step that's barely submerged. You should have seen the smile on her face! We went home, two happy, slightly muddy girls. For general info in case you've never been... There is a cool dragon rollercoaster for the kids, swing sets and play forts too numerous to count, covered picnic areas, a 2 story pavilion where they have live music, a splash pad for the kids, and did I mention a train? Yes a mini, open air train for kids and adults. It circles the park and even has little train crossing guardrails that lower when the train approaches! There is also a very impressive water fountain feature and light show with music (weekend evenings). Let's see...a huge swan structure in the center of the water that lights up at night. A functioning waterwheel, as well. I think that's it. PS: they use to have a beautiful carousel, but it was damaged by the flood... Please...
Read moreI remember going to Spring Park when I was a child, and now 30 years later I enjoy taking my daughter. It's a great family park with lots to do. The roller Coaster has been down a few years, but the carousel is usually up and running (it was down last week during our field trip) but my favorite thing to do is ride the train around the park and look at the beautiful scenery. There is playground equipment (some does need to be replaced like the broken purple dino). There are several picnic tables a huge pavilion and bathrooms on site. There's a beautiful waterfall and a pond full of ducks and geese. You can buy bird food at the pond for a quarter. It's fun for little ones to feed the wildlife, but sometimes the park is covered in duck or geese poop. My daughter and I both came home last week needing to clean our shoes and I thought I was being extra careful not to step in it. So watch out for that, but it's not always that way. Just don't wear your best shoes ;) There's also a splash pad here that we've never used. Lots to do for free or you can pay to enjoy the rides. They're just a few...
Read moreSo much fun for all age groups. They have a carousel 🎠, and roller coaster 🎢 for the little ones. They also have a train that the adults are able to ride with the children that run all around the park so you can just enjoy the time together as well as the beautiful views. Feed the ducks, see the beautiful waterfall, on those hot days there's a splash pad to cool off in, as well as the swing an play sets for the kiddos. If you do go you can pack a cooler of drinks an snacks for a picnic or they have a little restaurant and a ice cream/ sno cone/ shaved ice/ drinks an etc.. for something quick. You can definitely make a whole day of fun for the family to spend time together and make memories. An if you like you can end it off with the little light show they have at dark...
