We had a glorious ride out to the reef – I have never seen water colors like that anywhere. At the reef, I was first in the water and unfortunately had a faulty snorkel (which I had brought from my rental villa.) After taking a couple big gulps of sea water while trying to tread water that was already choppy, wearing fins, I got a bit panicked. I had to call for help and was told by David to swim around the boat to the ladder. I tried twice but could not manage it. He tossed me a life preserver and I got to the ladder then. He took the life preserver and left me holding onto the ladder in fins, really tired and more than a little shook up by now. Finally he came back and I said, I can’t climb this ladder in fins. He told me to take them off and hand them to him, so I did. He left again. I got onto the ladder but couldn’t get off onto the boat without a hand up. Fortunately there was another passenger who saw that and helped me. I am 62 and run a small farm; while I am not super-strong or a great swimmer, I am active and in good shape and I have snorkeled a fair amount. At this point, I think good customer service would have been for someone to ask if I was okay, and whether I wanted to try again after I had caught my breath, with a new snorkel and some more support until I knew my gear worked. Although David looked at my snorkel and told me what was wrong, neither he nor the captain said another word to me. It was clear they had my $105 and it didn’t matter to them whether I had a good experience or not. Two other things you should know if you go out with Captain Carl. One: you will have to swim to shore at Buck Island, so you can’t take anything you want to keep dry, like your lunch, a towel, or a phone. Two: the hike they point out is a loop, not an out and back, so you DO NOT have to scramble over the very rocky part of the beach; you can just start from the other end, get to the top of the island and see the view, then come back down the same way. With a little effort and communication on the part of Captain Carl and David, I could have had a really good day after a rough start. Instead, I am writing...

For you to be so out of pocket is absurd and to be such a weak man that you can't handle a conversation is hilarious. For you to think you have the right to place shame on someone, when you've never met them or know to whom you're speaking with. Shows you are a weak person with poor character. To think this is the response any woman has to deal with all just to boat ride is absolutely ridiculous.
This your response sent to my wife: "Do you believe transgender boys playing in girls sports I assume you didn’t hear our President Trump saying boys are not allowed to play in girls sports Shame on you and you might be a transgender person yourself Please let me know"
My final response to you is below: The cancellation had nothing to do with our beliefs vs your beliefs, but simply if you are that much of an unprofessional over the phone. Why in the world would we think your professionalism would be capable of taking us on the open sea.
Good luck in life, Shawn
WOW and the insane diatribe continues.
Here is your most recent response: You really want boys playing against girls in any sort of game Think twice That’s one reason Trump was elected to be President by a landslide Heinz Sent from my iPhone

Here is my reply: Heinz, I'm curious when My wife or I ever stated that is what we would like....
It seems that you are so marginalized that you feel attacked and need to defend something that has not even been suggested. You are equal to the local drunk standing on a soap box while yelling at passers by who are completely ignoring you. As these people like my wife and I have never stated any of these beliefs.
You have simply cost yourself money by assuming everyone in Massachusetts has exactly the same beliefs. I feel disappointed in your people skills and lack of...
Read moreCaptain Carl and Amy were 100% awesome. Carl was very calm and focused on providing the best sailing experience, and Amy was very friendly and attentive to the needs of the passengers. If you are more of the adventurous type and like to explore on your own, this tour allows you that freedom. We got to sail most of the way to Buck Island and the whole way back. Gliding through the water with no motor noise is so peaceful. The snorkel trail was amazing! The best snorkeling I’ve ever seen. The coral is so close that you have to be very aware not to swim too close in spots. Be ready to swim/wade 15 yards or so in 6 feet of water if you want to get onto Buck Island. Everyone handled it with no issue and enjoyed the opportunity to cool off again in the water. Make sure to pack a light lunch, liquids, rub type sunscreen that is reef safe, and sunglasses. 10/10 would...
