The trails are well maintained. Our favorite spot is a rocky bank near the creek where the kids find salamanders, tiny clams/oysters and skip rocks. It's great to have this secluded piece of nature in the middle of developed suburbia. It's one of the few places around where you can feel completely surrounded by nature without hearing road noise or seeing man-made structures and such. We really enjoy the hilly nature of the trails too. They can get muddy at times. We have hiked here year round, though. It's especially magical in the winter.

The Clubhouse at Boyce Mayview Park playground is awesome!!! The playground theme is the Pittsburgh skyline as seen from PNC Park. I was thoroughly impressed with all of the electronic elements being that it's an outdoor playground. My son's favorite part is playing the piano with his feet on the large piano pad on the ground (like the one Tom Hanks used in the movie Big). I must say they did an awesome job replicating the Steel Building, the Highmark Building, the PPG Building, and the Sixth Street Bridge (Roberto Clemente Bridge).

Very fun place that adults can enjoy with their kids instead of just watching. They have areas where a mist can be activated to help keep everyone cool on hot days. There are all kinds of subtly and some not so subtly hidden references to baseball all over the park. Across the parking lot from the play area is a splash pad requiring admission, so we didn't go this time. Next to the play area is a small baseball diamond (maybe t-ball?) And a paved track for walkers or cyclists.

Extensive trails, which were well marked. There were a couple areas where people wandered off-trail creating new paths that had me taking missteps, but I wouldn’t have any trouble on a second visit. The overlooks for the wetlands were unfortunately obscured by overgrown vegetation, and the waterfalls are small, but for a park in a suburban setting, it’s good for some easy to mildly moderate hiking.

I visited the park 11-21-21 the place was great. I came to geocache. I needed the one 06 cache and the mystery was on my to hit list. I needed up finding the 4 I needed in the park. I did however get a lot of tiny ticks on me which I had not counted on since it was so cold. But it's all part of the hiking life. The trails were good and using google maps they were right on.

Great trails and lots of them. You can spend a few hours here and rarely have to double back
