I agree with Kris Burgess. "The pool at this place feels like nazi Germany. I think there are more lifeguards than swimmers." Management could care less about patron experience. Too many useless rules. The lifeguards are a perfect example of how a little bit of power goes to their head and they think they can boss and harass anyone. Here are some examples: I was watching the poop patrol to see what they were actually doing for an hour and a half while patrons can not use the pool. Turns out they are not doing anything useful. But don't try to watch them. They order you out of the area and then file false incident reports to management about bumping their poop bucket. Another time I was watching my child in the fast whirlpool on the lazy river near the entrance to the whirlpool. I was whistled for this infraction because I was not close enough to the child. She was not in any danger, can swim, and was having a good time but I am being treated like some criminal for this infraction. This place needs a change in management that takes the patrons side when we are spending our hard earned money at the pool. Tax dollars built this very nice facility but it has been taken over by management that think they own it and can enforce any rule they can think of and let the public take it or leave it. Another reviewer mentioned the really nice big lobby that is usually empty. I think the reason it is empty is because there are rules and regulations about groups not being permitted to use it. What would be the problem to open it up to groups? One reason is it would compete with their very expensive party room rentals. They also override this rule if you are some of the favored few that are granted permission - another example of the attitude that this is our facility - not...
ย ย ย Read moreThe monthly cost for a family membership is $103 for non-residents of Upper St. Clair. I've been a non-resident member for over five years and this facility has the best maintained indoor basketball courts in the area. The floor is a little dusty though, and my son has frequent issues with traction. My son and I visit at least 4 to 5 times a week, and at that usage rate, I think the monthly cost is totally worth it. I've had my share of issues there over the years though. Certain members like to think that the gym is a great place to dump their kids after school where they then are free to wreak any sort of havoc they might like. This includes launching full court shots while you are under the rim trying to rebound. Or rolling balls into your space when you are trying to playing 1 on 1. These antics have resulted in multiple injuries to me and my son. If you want to do any kind of serious hoops training or work, you'll have your work cut out for you dealing with these kids. For that reason, we choose specific non-peak periods when the kids are forced out to come and do our training work. For the most part, the other patrons are pretty nice, but I've had some run ins with some pretty obnoxious people here....general rule: if the kid is obnoxious, it's because the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Word of warning: do not interact with any of these...
ย ย ย Read moreAvoid this place at all cost, go somewhere else to swim. The staff is extremely rude and needs serious training with customer service. I explained to them that I am medically disabled and cannot swim because of medical reasons and that I'm just sitting at the table (fully clothed even with a jacket on) and waiting for my wife and daughter while they swim. They told me "Unfortunately, you still have to pay even if you don't swim." Can you believe they were going to force a handicapped person to pay $12 just to sit and wait for his wife and child to swim? So then I said give me back my $24 for my wife and daughter because I'm not going to sit in my car in the parking lot for a couple hours while they swim, and by the way we just got here a few minutes ago. They wouldn't do it......they refused to refund my $24 so we just left and got screwed out of $24. I should get a lawyer and sue them under the person's with disabilities act. I've been to many water parks and didn't get charged after I explained that I'm handicapped and can't swim......but not this place, they discriminate!!!! They saved 12 bucks today by not allowing me to sit on a chair but will lose several hundred dollars of future money because my family and I will not be coming back, ever - real smart!!! If I could rate this place zero...
