Very enjoyable trail. Easier on knees during the ascent than Deluge Lake. It is definitely worth the effort as the views at the top are absolutely stunning. There is trout at the lake, both alive and dead. There are less yellow jacket nests than on the Booth Lake trail as well as the other trails around Vail. I saw a grey snake slither across the rocks when picking wild raspberries at the scree. The trail was not that busy on a Saturday but still busy enough to prevent any significant wildlife sightings.
