Florida Park — Attraction in Valparaiso

This place is a beautiful place to go to just for the scenery. They've actually added a few things that make the place even more beautiful. And it's actually in the memory of a couple . But sadly I do have to make a complaint about it. No matter if it's a tiny rain or a thunderstorm it's like a marsh. But only on one half of the park. And when it does rain not only is the ground extremely mushy but it gives off a horrible odor. But on a good side it's a great place to go for family get-togethers. This is a fairly large park with a lot of amenities such as men's and women's facilities, a boat ramp, fishing pier, living shoreline, several gazebos with grills and a nice children's play area. The grass is kept mowed and there are plenty of benches and shaded picnic tables accessible via a nice brick-paved walkway. The parking and paved walkways offer handicap friendly access. I don’t know what’s happened but this park has seriously gone down hill. The grass hasn’t been cut in I don’t know how long. It’s also not very kid friendly...there’s is no shade over the equipment so the kids burn themselves if they do try to play on it and there are only swings for babies, nothing for older kids.
