Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center, the place is OK. But, some of the staff are bad especially the manager. He is rude and arrogant. People go to the park & pay money to have fun, not to find an idiot manager who ruins their day. My 7 years old son was able to walk in the pool because the water was not deep in the area he was playing in. I let him to use the arm bands to help him float and swim, (not just walk). They life gaurds told him to take the arm bands off and use one of the life vests provided by the park. Unfortunatly, all of them were smaller than his size. So, I told him to go back to the pool with his arm bands. After an argument with one of the life gaurds, she complained to the manager. Then after an argument with the stupid manager, he said (I'm going to ask you to tell your son to leave the pool & take off the arm bands and then go back to the pool without them or I will ask everyone to leave now!) He knew that the water was not deep for my son and the arm bands were just a help for floating, but he insisted on letting my son swim without his arm bands, and he ignored the fact that the park administration did not put in mind the different sizes of kids and provide more sizes of life vests. They should do that from the beginning because ignoring such thing is a disrespect of people. If you want people follow your rules, first you should provide all the facilities and equipment that make following the rules a possible thing. Not by providing only small sizes and letting a dumb manager say (this is what I have!!) when I complained about providing only the small sizes of life vests. If the first priority for lifeguards was the safety of people, is it better to let people use their own equipment because the park does not provide enough?! Or is it better to tell people to go to the pool without any safety equipment because all the life vests in the park are small! From my point of view, this situation involved some show off by the little stupid manager because after I asked my son to take the arm bands off and go back to the pool. I saw 2 of the life guards laughing especially the one with the manager (his lady), who wanted to look powerful in her eyes. What a park that allows such a stupid manager disrespect people!
To the park administration, If you have rules, you must make it possible for people to follow these rules, and find a real manager who knows how to respect people and what to do according the shortcomings that you have...
Read moreI really wanted to enjoy our Father’s Day at the splash pad and Pool but we got there at Noon and had to wait in a 20 min line to just get tickets to get in - then we searched for a shade spot but they have 5 umbrellas and people had already spread out towels in the only shade areas . I have 2 babies that needed shade so that was the beginning to our stressful experience- Then there were kids running Everywhere on the toddler splash area and even with me standing right behind my 14 month old some bigger kid crashes right into me and my toddler - so I take her to the Pool area and still can’t even put her down because it’s PACKED with people shoulder to shoulder. Then a FIGHT between two teenagers breaks out and the lifeguards don’t even blow their whistle. Too dangerous for us we get out and go to the Lazy river - oh we can’t ride down the river safely either because there are teenagers / young adults acting a fool pushing people around to run through the water and then stand under the Mushroom waterfall. Not relaxing at all . Lifeguards didn’t care about that either . Between the Disrespectful kids and the inappropriate thong bikinis we were ready to leave - So we decided to get something to eat, after standing in line for 30 min we get to the window and order and pay for nachos they make an announcement they are out of everything except hot dogs and pop, no nachos no pretzels no slushies. Just hot dogs. So I ask for my money back and they tell me I have to get BACK IN LINE TO GET A REFUND?!? I get a credit on a receipt and walk away getting nothing: we get ready to leave and go into the women’s bathroom and it is DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY . I’m talking about Pee on the floor in the changing room stalls and toilet paper soaked all over the floors , DIRTY DIAPERS laying on the Toilet paper dispensers- DIRTY SANITARY PADS ON THE FLOOR - I Will NEVER take my kids back to this “waterpark” I honestly want my $22 back for the terrible experience we had . 0/10 DO...
Read moreWe loved our time at Turtle Cove today. It's a great, reasonably priced water park and one of the only good pool options we found to still be open this week (9/27, week ending labour day weekend). There are loads of things that would make for a better experience but we wouldn't hesitate to return. Pros: it was lovely and clean, plenty of loungers, changing areas and restroons were kept really clean and quite dry and weren't smelly, which is frankly a rare offering amongst similar priced waterparks!
Cons: water only allowed by the pool. This seems incredibly over the top and as a devout rule follower I was so thirsty sitting watching my kids all day without a soda! We didn't see many people flouting the rules but we did not see those who had their own food or drink be told to put it away.
There was a constant long line for the water slides. It really put me off of giving them a go. The kids went on them a bunch but even they spent more time in the pool than usual as they didn't want to spend all day in line.
Not being able to take smaller children on the tube slide accompanied by an adult. This was really disappointing for my 44 inch tall 6 year old whom we have always found is able to ride water slides elsewhere, if not alone then with a parent.
Side note: I had read I think on a trip advisor review that puddle jumpers are not allowed, but I saw many kids using them, just in case you are looking for...
