Maxine Barritt Park — Attraction in Venice

I think what this is best for is it’s a great place to walk a dog. There is also a fenced in dog run area. There are some shelters (one that’s quite large) but not a lot to see from any of them so I’d probably defer to another local place that has a beach view from a shelter if that’s what you are looking for. There are a handful of enclosed patio areas that lookout over the beach that are nice, and one (to the right, in the vicinity of the large shelter) has beach access via a ramp. If you are using this as a spot to park and go to the beach or pier, then I guess it’s ok. Otherwise I’d probably look for a better spot if you are planning to spend more time using facilities like tables and bbq...

Maxine Baritt Park is a Great place! I am a local and come here often. Offers plenty of parking for those visiting the park, always clean. This has a walking path ( 7/10 of a mile I believe) that circles a lake. Beautiful shaded spot that has inlets with Awesome views of the beach and gulf of Mexico (Great for pictures) Occasionally small planes fly over for air strip landing nearby. Dog beach on one side of park and sharkys pier on other. This park also offers a few Pavillions for a picnic. Also can be reserved for special occasions. Very nice park - just after the Venice Pier/Sharky's. Very close to the beach. Plenty of seating. Benches and gazebo. Provides beach access. Also provides seating where you can see the beach. Good park for someone in a wheel chair who wants to view the beach. Picnic tables. Clean. Modern restrooms, outdoor shower and water fountain. Small playground. Sunny and shady areas.
