South Jetty Beach in Venice, Florida, offers a delightful combination of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and community amenities. This beach, located at the end of Tarpon Center Drive, is a favorite among locals and visitors alike for its stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico and its rich array of activities. The beach is well-known for its picturesque scenery, including frequent sightings of dolphins, pelicans, and other marine life. Visitors often highlight the serene experience of watching boats drift by and birds diving for fish. The beach is equipped with amenities like picnic tables, benches, showers, restrooms, and a charming snack shop that offers a variety of refreshments, making it a convenient and comfortable place for a day out. One of the unique features of South Jetty Beach is its rock formations, which are popular spots for fishing and snorkeling. The rocks also provide a natural barrier, creating a calm area ideal for swimming. The beach’s easy accessibility and ample parking make it a hassle-free destination, although the parking lot can become crowded during peak times. Despite this, the beach remains an excellent spot for both relaxation and adventure. Additionally, South Jetty Beach is a great spot for sunset viewing, offering some of the best sunset vistas in the region. Its proximity to other attractions in Venice, such as the Venice Fishing Pier and the numerous nearby parks and markets, adds to its appeal as a central hub for both leisure and exploration. Overall, South Jetty Beach is a must-visit destination in Venice, Florida. Its combination of natural beauty, wildlife, recreational activities, and convenient amenities makes it an exceptional spot for families, couples, and solo travelers looking to enjoy the best of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The South jetty is a nice place to sit and take in the beautiful views. Great spot for pictures. Sometimes the water is very calm, but when there are storms out in the ocean there can be big waves. It's fun to see the difference. There are picnic tables and benches spread out which makes picnics easy. There are bathrooms which is nice especially if you're hanging out for awhile. There is a food stand there as well. It's a new owner which is sad. Previously it was Anita's which had been there for around 20 yrs. They were pushed out for higher rent. I haven't eaten at the new place, but I've stopped by there. They have a good amount of options and there were several people there enjoying food. I'll update when I eat there.

I really enjoyed South jetty beach. It is not very crowded and it's mostly an older crowd. This is a good beach for fishing. But I would not say it's a good beach for swimming. The water appears to be more turbulent than the other beaches near by like nokomis Beach. The sand is also darker sand and it gets hot on the feet unlike the cool white sand beaches. So if you're looking for a great Beach to fish or just to sit back in a chair and watch the waves this is a perfect Beach for you the beach does not allow alcohol so that's a downside there is a concession stand near that sells ice cream hot dogs and hamburgers and also has bathrooms for...
