Beautiful sights and clean bathrooms. The information center was not open when I was there. And I was unclear whether or not you could sleep in your car because it said no overnight parking but all I needed was a couple hours of sleep so instead of getting shoot off I pushed myself a couple more hours to crash at the next rest stop. There were many large trucks there and they have their own place to park but since I was towing boats I needed to use the longer slot because they're parking lot is very small so if you are in a big vehicle or hauling anything because when I say boats I mean my kayaks be prepared to not have a spot if the trucks spots are filled up. Definitely worth stopping if you're driving by though because it has some really great views. I've actually passed by it many times but this is the first time it popped up in my Google reviews and I don't think I've ever reviewed a welcome center. So I don't have any pictures this go around but I'll try to get some next I was there in the dark this past time. But I promise you I've seen it in the light and it's worth a stop...

This is actually a historic site and very cool. There are several canons located out back that overlook the Mississippi River. The offices close at 5pm but the grounds are open later. Not very many toilet stalls for the restroom and not the nicest but the overall property was very well cared for.

The views out over the Mississippi are fabulous, even with the high river levels right now - I could not believe how many barges are running.

One of the best views of the MS River, along with those from the Washington St. Overlook down the road which gives you a better perspective on the view as the river makes its turn into and flowing past Vicksburg, MS Vicksburg is located on a hilltop ridge that over sees the river and is one of the best places to view it as you travel from the North, Memphis down to New Orleans. The visitor center offers a free coffee service and has good selection of brochures advertising travel attractions in the state, places to go and visit. You may want to stop in as you travel West to East, or East to West across the...

Great view of Mississippi River, inconsiderate night staff. There is a huge sign that clearly states no over night truck parking and that there is a 30 minute time limit. I set a timer on my phone for 30 minutes and laid down in the sleeper. Literally 3 minutes later the security guard guard banged on my truck and told me that I had been there for 3 minutes and had to leave when my 30 was up. The place clearly doesn't cater to the needs of truck drivers no matter how small that need is. If I had been there for 30 minutes and he knocked to remind me that would have been one thing but interrupting me 3 minutes into being there was uncalled for. No wonder the lot was empty, it was probably one of the most unwelcome welcome centers I have...

I always enjoy stopping at this spot during my travels—it offers stunning views of the Mississippi River and the iconic bridges that cross it. The visitor center’s unique architecture has always caught my eye, though during this visit I learned that it's slated for demolition to make way for a more modern facility. While I appreciate the vision for the future, I’ll miss the classic colonnade design that gave the structure its charm. This was my first time going inside, and although it’s a beautiful space, it did carry a somber vibe of funeral home that made the planned update feel justified. I’m genuinely curious to see how the new structure will honor the location’s character while bringing a fresh experience.

Was a quick stop on my day of travels. I am from Ms but live in TX….stopped here for first time just because it was convenient. Staff was very nice….asked me to sign the book and for sure I did. I did walk around some while there….was a nice view of the bridges and river from there so I took a few….and checked in on FB so my followers and family could see where I was…..I will add this to my list of possible stops along our path. When you have traveled the road as many years as us….we have stops marked everywhere….where the best coffee is…..where the best breakfast is…and of course where the clean bathrooms are!! This will be added to our list!
