The downstairs restrooms were beyond disgusting! Blood & more splattered on the stall walls, one toilet out of order to the point it had a big black garbage bag and a wet floor sign over it, and it looked like it had actually been cleaned in ages. Thick layers of dust covered to top of the stall walls and bracing. Soap dispenser was broken and half hanging on the wall. The floor was dirty and covered in toilet paper.

The McDonald's upstairs didn't fare a better rating. The manager was untidy and unprofessional. While the friendly order taker was helping a customer in front of us he walked over to her and said, "Go home. You have like 10 seconds left." He interrupted the customer in mid-sentence and then just walked away. The order taker was very friendly and polite. She was the only bright spot in this entire rest area. She took our order correctly, but it wasn't made the way she entered it into the computer. We asked for ketchup only on two burgers, which the sandwich maker must have forgotten since he/she tried to scrap off the other toppings (still some of all the toppings on the bun). My sandwich was old and rubbery around the edges, indicating it was past it's expiration time.

The seating area was dirty. Finger prints covered one window pane, but there were no little kids in the vicinity. The walls had splatters and dirt on them, which wasn't fresh. Very unclean.

This will not be a rest area we'll stop in again or...

Stopped here to sleep over night while traveling. Didn’t buy anything but used the restrooms both upstairs and downstairs, the upstairs bathrooms were spectacular. However, the downstairs bathroom was terrible and needs a good cleaning. A regular hourly check on the bathroom would be a good idea, nobody likes using the stalls that are trashed. Outside right by the front door it smelled horrible, not sure what it was but I’m assuming it was coming from the dumpster but it lingered all over all night long. I do recommend it as it is a beautiful stop, and lots of cool things to see. I looked around the gift shop and the lady working was super nice and they had all sorts of neat things in there to see. The whole store (aside from the downstairs bathroom) looked wonderful and the people were friendly. Plenty of parking and space to stretch your legs and get some rest. They have a McDonald’s, subway, and gas station all right here which is nice and convenient. There was also a beautiful view of the highway which was super...

It's a great place and it's really a neat place very unique and it's nice to have it there on the highway after driving you know a hundred miles or so and then you can take a break there's all kinds of restaurants in there upstairs or at least two I think it's McDonald's and Subway and then downstairs of course they have the come and go where it says the pizza and sandwiches and fast food like that convenience store food so yes it's a nice place you should all stop in and see it there's sections of Will Rogers up there looking down over the highway which you're great for photos and of of course it has bathrooms and amenities like that so everybody should stop when they go by or under it they will really appreciate it more once you can say hey that was cool I was up in there looking down once twice we stopped almost every time that we go anywhere in that thing is there on the highway it's fabulous it goes right over the hobby you can sit there and eat and watch the Diesels go right beneath you and...

Ok ...a handy place to stop given that you don't have the hassle of pulling off the turnpike then getting back on. I was here when the place was basically empty but customer service really sucked. The McDonald's was the pits. Only 1 out of 4 order kiosks were working and the only available one has a line. The point of sale register also has a line. I literally watched the cashier stand with his back to the counter while he put together Halloween kids meal buckets... Halloween is 3 weeks away! Similarly the teller at the downstairs snack shop was all tied up trying to straighten out sales receipts with a trucker (?) or manager (?) or some sort of non-customer. Toilets were seriously filthy. What does this place do when they are swamped with travelers?

The best tourist traps are the ones that are free. This place is exactly that. There are two sides. Eastbound and down an westbound and down. On either side there is a gas station, elevator, stairs, bathrooms, and convenience store (Note there are bathrooms on both sides and floors. The second floor bathrooms are less crowded.) This place has glass elevators meaning you can see how they work. On the second floor there is a McDonalds, Subway and a Route 66 Gift Shop as well as a short history lesson about Will Rodgers. One of the most unique features is the fact that it is over the highway. When truckers go by you feel like they will scrape on the bottom of the floor. Overall if you need a bite to eat or need some gas you should definitely stop here.
