We really enjoy going here every time we visit. Great adventure walk! My older children and I really enjoy this very much. It always feels clean. We love the petting zoo.
09-2023 review
I just photograpged a wedding this weekend held in their barn. Hadn't been in this barn in the last 10 or so years and boy had it changed!! It was a fun place for a child's Birthday party previously; we really enjoyed it. The makeover on the barn, however, is stunning.
The place was beautiful, the floors were shiny....white lights covered the ceiling. It was a very classy, elegant occasian for a wedding. I don't know how long ago this was done but it was amazing.
We also got to use the gazibo for photos and walking through that whole area reminded me how beautiful they had created their spaces around the petting zoo and fun areas to look and feel.
The event planner from Hunt Club Farm was not only very personable but was so great at working with everyone on the wedding day that she made my job a million times easier and made the process more enjoyable for all of us.
Krendal was the DJ ( I learned he/ his company works with Hunt Club Farm for the events they host.) He was an incredible DJ! He definitely made the event come alive. Even with totally different age groups, he was able to keep everybody happy and out on the dance floor. He worked so well with the photographer and planner that the evening flowed beautifully!
Based on what I experienced this last weekend, I would highly recommend Hunt Club Farm for any event or wedding . As a family, we still enjoy coming here for their events, their fall weekends (and pumpkins), their Christmas season and just to have a fun outing as a family.
__ 2021 review (I believe I've reviewed them before this trip in 2021? ) This last trip I will say they get pretty crowded late afternoon with everything fall they do. No idea about the nighttime events.
I appreciate that they take reservations to keep numbers spread out as much as possible, take temps as you come in, have handsanitizer in multiple places (and sell a small one for only$1).
I will avoid the more crowded times right now but I feel they are doing a great job with all they have put into place to keep...
Read moreWent to Hunt Club yesterday for the first time in a long time to see the Highland Cows and do the cuddle experience. Unfortunately, it was not a good time... at all.
There was really not a lot of things to see or do- all of the birds that are normally out were put away… so the majority of the cages were empty. And there were so. many. people! So, we just kind of sat there waiting for our turn with the cows.
When it was our turn, we had 4 people (1 other couple besides myself and my significant other) in our group for the first 5 or 10 minutes. There were 2 cows in the pen. So, each couple had a cow to bond with/take pics with. It was like the perfect amount of people. The girl doing the tour was nice and informative. But… after the first 5 or so minutes of our experience things went south.
People started coming over to the pens (who did not pay for the extra experience) trying to lure the cows to come visit with them right outside the fence. They were putting their hands inside of the fence and reaching out to get the cows attention- while the people who paid for the experience were trying to enjoy our time. The crowd was also trying to get the cows to pose with them for pictures…
It’s not fair that people who did not pay for the experience got to pet/play/take pics with them for free but just outside of the fence..
We also had a group of stragglers coming in to join the cow experience. 6 people in one pen with just two cows is way too many. Myself and my significant other and the other couple had to take turns enjoying the one cow while the latecomers were trying to keep the cow solely to themselves.
Not to mention the experience was very short given that there were only 2 cows. 20 minutes with 6 people and two cows is not a lot of time! And given the extra interference with outsiders… I just can’t recommend it.
Honestly, it’s a cute experience.. just poorly executed. Why pay the extra $20 per person when you can just pet the cows outside the fence?
I truly wanted to come back and do the bottle feeding experience, but with how things went with the cow cuddling, I will not be returning to...
Read moreHunt Club Farm Summer Camp, Virginia Beach VA Hunt Club Farm Summer Camp is truly one of the best experiences we’ve had in Virginia Beach! My kids (ages 8 and 11) attended Week 0 this summer, and every single day they came home glowing with excitement. The camp offers full-day programming (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and is packed with unique, hands-on farm experiences: horseback riding, archery, water play, paddle boating, art, fishing, and even goat yoga!
The real stars of the camp, though, are the animals. My daughter bonded with “Bug” the baby goat, while my son couldn’t stop talking about Liberty, the Continental Giant rabbit. They fed, groomed, and bottle-fed baby cows and goats, learned about animal personalities, and even had a hilarious llama-spitting moment!
The staff were amazing — fun, energetic, and so attentive. I called on the first day to check on my kids, and within 10 minutes they had walked out to their group and called me back with an update. The team is welcoming to parents at drop-off and pickup, often inviting us to walk the farm. On the final day, they even held an Animal Parade, where campers walked their favorite animals and parents got to watch.
The \
5/day lunch option (hot dog or Uncrustable with fruit, chips, and drink) was super convenient. There's also a Canteen snack bar, and we added \\
5/day to a gift card held by the counselors — easy and fun for the kids.Pro tip: Bring everything in a small laundry basket (ours was \$2 at Target) with a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, water, snack, lunch, and a hat.
When it rained, the staff brought kids and animals into the air-conditioned barn for indoor activities — a thoughtful touch. The camp is on the pricier side, but you get a 12-month petting farm membership and a camp T-shirt included, making it a great value.
I highly recommend Hunt Club Farm for any family looking for a meaningful, outdoor, screen-free...
