This historical gem sits among the busy city buildings and is across the street from the Municipal Center.

The first thing you see when you drive up the long driveway is the large oak tree. Inside the blue-green paint is beautiful and interesting.

There’s a few secret things that I won’t share here but they are worth the visit to see for yourself!

Whitehurst means white woods. Staffordshire England is where the family was from which has a lot of Birch trees which are "White." The Whitehurst family came to Virginia in 1636 and landed at Whitehurst landing rd in Virginia Beach. This Whitehurst house use to be a farm back in the late 1700s.
