It seems both are deemed to be correct. 📕In 1966 the National Park Service acquired 800 acres along the Potomac River in northern Fairfax County and in 1968 a Visitor Center was built. 📘Great Falls Park is a small National Park Service site. It is owned, operated, and funded through the National Park Service. There are National Park fees to enter OR you can use your US National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Pass “America the Beautiful” to enter. 📙But it’s not listed as one of the 63 National Parks in the US. It’s part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway but operated by the NPS. ❓So did that clear up the debate? It’s ran by the NPS but it not officially a National Park which is why the sign when you enter the park says Great Falls Park.
