However, as an aside: People in these reviews (Lee-Hall and Endview) tend to criticize locations like these because of the horrific institution of slavery and the fact that these places had enslaved people working on them. While philosophically I agree that slavery was horrific, these places are NOT preserved BECAUSE of that. So go complain to the historical commission. After working for her for about 2 years she wanted to show him a secret in case she ever came up missing. Her words" if you come over and can't find me I want you to look around the house first (as they are walking through the house then to the basement where she showed him a secret door) if u can't me look here" with a lantern they walked a long brick lined passageway to an outbuilding about 50-70 here behind the house.
