The Mansion at Fort Chiswell — Attraction in Virginia

This place was awesome! We were staying overnight at an RV park nearby and decided to go here after I Googled things to do in the area. It happened to be my birthday and we were looking for something more to do then sit in our 5th wheel all night. We took the tour which is really historically interesting and then had dinner in the restaurant there called Key Ingredients. My husband and I both had the beef tenderloin and it was perfect! We ordered dinner to go after an all day road trip and I have to say, this food was outstanding!!! We’ve been traveling up and down the eastern seaboard for 15 years and this was the YUMMIEST and healthiest dinner we’ve fed to the kids on the go in ages. Worth every cent to take a break from Starbucks and Panera and get some real homemade food. The Vidalia jam, the pulled pork, the mashed potatoes, the homemade desserts......outstanding. Ambiance is great. 180 yr old mansion on a hill above some pasture land. Food and service were great. Philly Steak wrap and cole slaw for me and my wife.
