A great place for fishing. There are enough fishes. Small catfish, bass, bluegill, and shad. You will always hear the symphony of water. There is a public washroom to get refreshed. A free public parking. All the amenities are there for you to make sure you enjoy the nature with utmost comfort. We used earth warms as bait to catch the catfish but all those are baby catfish. However, we had casting net. When we threw it on the water, OMG! the net got full of American Shad fishes. You will get other types of fish also. The fishing rod will give you lot of baby catfish. We saw a lot of family including their kids visited the place. I also see a woman was taking sunbath and reading book on the island. The overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend everyone who loves nature and fishing to visit this place with friends...

I ran 4 miles on this trail in the moring. Relaxing, cool, meditative, beautiful views. Had to stop myself from pausing for pictures constantly...a wholesome experience. 4 miles in 30 minutes with energy to spare and I must say that this location played a big role in the overall good feel of the run. Would do this everyday if I could. Saw dear and the river views...

Nice concrete walkway for both walkers and bikers. The bikers know the rules and let you know when approaching and passing. Nice views of the river along the way. Many miles of hiking. I prefer natural trails but this one is nice. There also is a kayak put in near the dam, not sure where the take out is since the trail is so long and not...

Be aware that there is a section closed due to some construction from just north of New Bern Avenue to just north of Anderson Point. Approximately 4 miles. Besides that the trail is wonderful and clean. An excellent place to get in a good ride. I rode 66.5 miles, and my riding buddy rode 67.
