I went for a tasting over Easter weekend for a friend’s birthday. The experience was good until it was time to close out. The staff member was struggling with their machine stating it was new. She ran my card multiple times and as a result I ended up with two charges near $400 each on my card. I contacted the winery they informed me that they were aware but not sure how to issue a refund. They told me that they were working on it and would be in touch. A week went by with no word, I reached out and received no response. I contacted my credit card company to file a claim and it was after that, that I got a text from Amavi again telling me that they were still working on figuring out how to refund my money. It took 6 weeks before my $381 was returned. Im pretty sure that I wouldn’t have been able to take my 6 bottles of wine without payment, noting that once I figured out how to pay that I would. Yet, I guess that they think it’s appropriate to hold on to nearly $400 of my money. I got an apology for my frustrations and a thank you for my patience, but I had to keep reaching out and push for my refund. I’m truly disappointed with this...
Read moreUpdated review, July 2024. Our visit to Amavi Winery was absolutely delightful, thanks to Stephanie! She worked her magic to get us in for a last-minute tasting of the 2021 Stone Valley Syrah and went above and beyond by setting up a side-by-side tasting with the 2022 Walla Walla Valley Syrah. Stephanie's knowledge and passion for wine were evident, making our quick visit not only educational but also incredibly fun and memorable. Her exceptional hospitality turned our impromptu stop into a highlight of our trip. Amavi is a gem, and Stephanie made it shine even brighter!

Crazy to think how knowledgeable he was and his passion for wine at such a young age. Kudos to Amavi for securing such a...
Read moreThere was a time when I loved Amavi. That was in the early 2000's, when they were still located in the log cabin near Canoe Ridge. They were generous with the tasting and welcoming, which made for a very fun and comfortable visit. Their Syrah is incredible! I still have a few bottles from 2003-2005. Its weird, though. Once they made the moved out to the Pepperbridge area, the hosts took on the kind of attitude that makes wine tasting and buying just a drag. Think of all the synonyms that go with pretentious and you'll be in the ball park. Its a shame, really, because their wine is quite good. And the view from the balcony is awesome. But I won't visit anymore for reasons I already explained. Come on, Walla Walla,...
