I last visited this winery in 2019 when it first opened when it was an earnest new business (at least in Walla Walla). We visited this winery in 2024 after tasting at Brook & Bull (highly recommend, especially if you’re a fan of Argentine style Malbec).

I was beyond surprised at the stark difference in my experience between these years. In 2019, Valdemar had great service, good wines, a beautiful view, and the food was stellar. At this last visit the service left something to be desired and honestly may have been one of the worst wine tasting experiences I’ve had recently. We felt rushed, there was no pacing to the food, and the wine had zero explanation as to where it was from, who grew it, or how it was aged. Luckily the wines were good and the grape varietals were noted on a piece of paper on the table below our wine glasses.

We were not checked on by our server and the interactions we did have were extremely forced and we felt it was an inconvenience to be there.

As for the food, which was delicious, there was no thought as to pairing it with the wines. The chorizo stuffed mushrooms came out so hot (and without warning) that they burnt my tongue and the papas bravas were so spicy, they ruined any potential tasting after.

After careful consideration, our group decided this is a winery for people that don’t care about wine.

Overall this winery has all the ingredients for an amazing tasting experience, but much like Nailed It on Netflix,...

I have visited Valademar twice now. I find the place magical. The view of the mountains is wonderful but the actual building is amazing! The architecture has so many different facets. It keeps the eye moving looking for the next treat in store. I love the water features, and the amazing seating. Every area of the seating is different giving to a new experience. The top quality building products from the walls, tiles that are rich in color, and design. Beautiful floors, with a fun stair case, and an elevator which I haven't tried yet. This place has style, and class. The wait staff are fun, professional and very efficient. The owners Jeasus, and Conchita are very warm, and pleasant people. On my second visit I attended the Mother's Day brunch. The food was amazing, tastes from Spain. Everything I ate was amazing! That is really saying something around here. They have recently opened so I didn't expect to wowed, and pleasantly surprised. They have thought of everything, and more. From blankets on a chilly day to pleasant conversation. I will continue to go back. I feel like I'm on vacation when I'm there. Last but not least, the wine is also a WINNER! If you haven't visited Valademar yet you are missing out. Thank you Jeasus, and Conchita for coming to Walla Walla, and sharing this awesome...

For our first Walla Walla wine region visit, and hopefully the first of several, my wife and I went to Valdemar Estates for an indoor lunch hour reservation to enjoy tapas and wine. Let me tell you - this place is exceptional. There's a WOW factor as you approach the building, and immediately admire its brutalist and modern contemporary architecture features. Through a giant entry door, cellars through glass windows full of wines from Spain and Walla Walla greet you. A beautiful staircase with high ceilings gives you a taste of the beautiful tasting room you're about to gaze upon. It was truly a wonderful experience - from the tasting service to the delicious tapas to the breathtaking scenery and atmosphere, this is a must-see for any wine enthusiasts in the region. We even got dessert to finish out our lunch - a slice of Basque cheesecake that was expertly prepared, and paired beautifully with the tail-end of our tasting. We gladly brought home 4 bottles and will probably bring home more next time we're in the area. It was delightful...

We made it a day at Valdemar Estates Winery and we are thrilled to have had such a wine and culinary adventure. My friend and I booked a wine blending experience and lucky for us, we were the only two wine blenders today. We felt extremely lucky because we know that this class will be quickly filling up in the future. Carl gave us a tour of the facilities and shared about the winery's history and general operations. After that, he led us through a fun and educational wine blending experience...he even did the wine math for us! He was thorough, encouraged us to be creative, and was patient as we blended, tasted, and discovered our preferred flavor profiles. We sealed the deal with tapas and wine flights on the patio as we marveled at the beauty all around. The staff and Carl were very attentive and created a space to relax and savor the great food and delicious wine in a restorative setting. Thank you team Valdemar! We'll be back. 😍

The good: the building is absolutely beautiful. The scenery was ok.. I think it will improve as the planted flora matures. Food was surprising delightful. The waiter did an excellent job explaining where the grapes were sourced from. The bad: its a bit pricey for the flights compared to other places in the valley and they only serve 3 glasses per flight. The pours were a bit shallow as well. You can enjoy better flights elsewhere. The ugly: compared to other local Walla Walla wines, their locally grown wines were subpar. Their imported wines were actually really good... but if we wanted imported wine we wouldn't want to get it in Walla Walla where there are so many other excellent choices locally grown. Conclusion: if all other options are booked, then this is a solid back up. If you're deciding between this winery and another in town, you can skip this one for now.

It was our first trip to Walla Walla and we wanted somewhere we could sit and take in the view of the Blue Mountains. Valdemar Estate winery was recommended to us and it was obvious why. Serene views are captured from every window and every seat in the house! We weren’t very familiar with their wine even though we had visited their Woodinville tasting room last year. Now we’re hooked! The Conde Valdemar Rose and the Blue Mountain Vineyard Syrah were two of my favorites. So cool that they provide tasting cards so that you know what is in your glass. I’d never seen this before. Really loved the friendly and chatty staff. We heard all about the rich history of this family owned Spanish winery. Definitely take the time to visit. The winery is gorgeous and so is their wine! We’ll be back for the paella party on the deck. Susan Says…friends and wine should be old!
