Overall I had a okay experience here. Good layout, the actors seemed to enjoy scaring and putting on a good show, and the long walk through also made it a fun time too. However, there were certain parts of the "trail" that didn't have enough actors to keep the suspense up. Another thing that was disappointing is that they didn't make gaps between the multiple parties that were walking through the attraction. Lake Compounce for instance (when they used to do Haunted Graveyard) let one group in at a time, waited a few minutes, then let the following group into the haunt. I noticed there was some effort made to do this here, but not enough to make a major difference. And lastly, the food situation. Someone in our party ordered two corn dogs and waited almost 20 minutes them to finish being made. Come to find out, they were handed to someone else that didn't order corndogs. Then, once all the confusion was sorted out, we were given the corndogs. Sadly enough, not only were they ice cold in the middle, they were still completely frozen. That was a total joke 😂 So the bottom line is, after hearing all of the hype about this particular haunt, I really thought that it was going to be a spectacular experience. Don't get me wrong, it was still lots of fun, but some of these issues I mentioned definitely need to be addressed to make it better. I will still come to this place, but for now, it will not be at the top of my list.

Let's get this part out the way. If covid gives you anxiety and you are uncomfortable leaving the house and entering public places, don't torture yourself here. Yes there are crowds of people, no not everyone is not six feet apart, and no not everyone follows the rules of keeping mask on. This is not the staffs fault though, they can't babysit everyone. You will be uncomfortable if covid really bothers you. Now with that said... Just wowww. The amount of detail that is in this haunted house is insane. The length of the walk is 45 minutes to an hour and literally not one area disappoints. The vast amount of themes, characters, surprises, there just nothing bad to say. If your into haunted houses and enjoy a good scare with some laughs, reserve your ticket now. I was very pleased. Rarely I go to a haunted house twice in a year, this time I just might. Oh and I read negative comments about it being one big line as you walk through it all, not true. If you see your getting close to the party ahead simply stop and give them 10 secs to move forward so your group is back to being alone. Not rocket science. Anyway A+ Trail of Terror

Arguably the best haunted experience in New England and anyone that rated it below 5 stars might have had their brain 🧠 eaten at the Trail of Terror. Takes them at least 10 months to build, proceeds go to charity, mostly volunteers and the craftsmanship and attention to detail are unsurpassed. Just the walk to the line is a blast and a scare, and they they let groups of 10 enter the Trail of Terror. It takes 45 minutes to walk through the entire horror filled experience, and you never know what is real and not real until they jump out at you, sometimes chasing you. From tunnels to narrow, dark passageways, lighting affects, smoke machines, chainsaws to dripping brains 🧠, in your face surprise attacks/scares, albeit not touching you… your heart will be beating fast! No pictures allowed during the walk and you go through a metal detector before you enter… AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

First things first: you WILL get your money's worth. Easily one of the longest haunts I've ever been through and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that there's hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of production design going on here. They really are PREMIERE when it comes to the quality of what's going on.

They're well organized in a sense that everything goes mostly the way it should.

So Andrew, why isn't it a perfect 5 stars? Well, I'll tell you, for one thing, jump scares every 30 seconds wears down the effect and after about 45 minutes of walking through it, you eventually get to a point where you just want to be done because there's really not much more going on in terms of the scare factor. What's more, eventually you will inevitably catch up to the group in front of you and the actors tend to scare them and either you know it's coming or the actors will just pass you to go back to their zone, passing you as is you aren't even there, which is disappointing. Additionally, it's very very dark. Yes, I know that seems like an unfair critique for a Halloween haunt, but in all honesty, a bit more light would actually make it more fun so you can appreciate the design work that's done because after a while it's almost like a Haunt museum tour.

All in all, if you're younger, new to haunts or just easily scared, this is the place to be. If you're a Halloween lover, this place will deliver the atmosphere you're after. But if you're a seasoned haunt veteran, it's an incredibly impressive display but ultimately...

Trail of Terror is simply awesome!! This is the best Haunt in CT I've been to so far. Been to 2 others that were also great but this one takes the 1st place prize for me in CT. I suggest getting an early time slot and buying your tickets well in advance, pretty much as soon as they go on sale because last year they sold out within the week of going on sale. We arrived at 7:45 for the 8pm and after waiting in line a bit we were really glad we got there when we did. Just waiting in line is an experience and I'm really appreciating more haunts decorating around the line and the actors doing more for people in line. It really helps the time go by.

The haunt itself was so damn cool. It took us an hour to talk through the whole thing. I was born away by how much detail each room and area had. Each room felt so alive with actors, props, audio effects, lights or lack there of, and tons of great decorations. There were plenty of jump scares and there's even a midway point where you can get water & snacks to take a quick break. My only complaint was there were too many bottle necks but it's understandable for a haunt of this size. Can't wait to make this one a yearly visit!! Great job to everyone who worked so hard to get this haunt ready year after year and to all the...
