Very clean and well maintained park for walks aswel as fishing and boat ramps for launching. Public restrooms on site. Dam construction with park & lagoon upgrades with new beach for basking in the sun.
Edit: 3/7/2020 Construction on or of the dam is done and now provides considerable amount of additional room atop. That includes a paved "bicycle & emergency vehicle road" and a great walkway that isn't as close as the old "sidewalk or walkway" to people's homes as the original route. Old route was insanely close and at times I felt like I was walking on people's porches and patios. The old route was also bicycle restricted and was only for walking & running. This new route runs the entire length of the lake from the park at North Bank, Buckeye Lake (pictured above) entirely to the park at Liebs Island in Millersport, Ohio. Renovations here at North Bank also included so far is larger parking lots and better layout of the drive in and out of the park onto S.R. 79. The Queen of the Lake is officially finished and now launched on the lake. So this year everyone will see her docks and get their own chance for a great adventure aboard her for excellent sightseeing of this lake's...
Read moreI enjoy the lake whenever I visit. This lake has a different type of atmosphere compared to Alum Creek and Salt Fork. The lake has been down because of the dam reconstruction but, it is picking back up now. If you come to the lake you must visit the local bars and restaurants such as, Papa Boos(great pizza and live entertainment), Waterfront(popular place once the other bars close down, stays open until 2:30), The Port(Great smoked food, outside entertainment and good music groups) and The Buckeye Lake Winery(Good food and great wine!). I love coming to the lake because a long weekend turns into a great memory.
The lake is an unlimited horsepower lake and as enough space and long runs to do tubing, water skiing and wakeboarding!!
I almost forgot to mention you must goto Weldons Ice Cream Factory when you come to the lake. My grandparents used to sit in the same booths and on the same porch that you will get to sit at and enjoy ice cream that hasn't changed for...

Buckeye Lake is large enough, big enough, deep enough, and convenient enough to garner 5 stars, all things considered. As a boater (PWC), the lake has plenty of open, unrestricted area to play in, including a cool little day anchorage down on the south end. There are nifty restaurants around the lake and in Millersport, and several boat service options. The lake is best if you can visit M-F, avoiding the weekends if possible; the lakeshore is mostly all built out, with the more quaint cabins of 50 years ago now being replaced with much more expensive, 3 level weekender homes. The shoreline has a 300' no wake zone which is fine, but there are a couple of annoyingly large no wake zones toward the north you need to sleep through to see or visit the whole thing. All in all, totally...
