A Summer Bash to Remember - A Phenomenal Experience at Forest Lodge!

I can't begin to express how thrilled we were with the outstanding experience we had at Forest Lodge for our summer bash event. From start to finish, the team at Forest Lodge demonstrated exceptional professionalism, attentiveness, and dedication, ensuring that our event was a resounding success.

This is our second year hosting our Company's summer bash at Forest Lodge. We utilized the Maple Grove Venue to accommodate about 300 guests and it was beautiful! surrounded by nature, ample space and perfectly secluded for just our team.

The event planning process was incredibly smooth, thanks to our coordinator Anthony Panchery. From our initial inquiry to the event day itself, the team at Forest Lodge worked closely with us to understand our vision, preferences, and specific requirements. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our requests surpassed our expectations.

On the day of the event, everything ran like clockwork. The setup was immaculate, and the staff had meticulously arranged every detail, leaving no room for disappointment.

The catering provided by Forest Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. The demographic of our company is mostly Indian, and the staff at Forest Lodge were gracious enough to offer us South East Asian Cuisine, allowing us to bring a taste of home to the US! This left our guests raving about the food for days. The catering staff was not only efficient but also courteous and warm, making everyone feel welcomed and attended to.

The technical aspects, such as lighting and sound, were handled with utmost expertise, enhancing the overall experience for our guests. They arranged for our DJ and they did a phenomenal job keeping our guests engaged and excited, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for all in attendance.

Moreover, the venue's amenities and facilities were impeccable. From ample parking space to well-maintained restroom facilities, Forest Lodge made sure that our guests' comfort was well taken care of.

Lastly, the venue's location was ideal, making it easily accessible for our guests coming from different parts of the city. The ease of reaching the venue added to the overall positive experience of our event.

In conclusion, we couldn't have chosen a better venue for our summer bash. The team at Forest Lodge exceeded our expectations yet again in every aspect, delivering a memorable experience for all of us who attended. We wholeheartedly recommend Forest Lodge to anyone seeking a top-notch venue for their events. we will certainly be back for our third year celebrating our summer bash at Forest Lodge.

We got married at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge and I truly don’t know where to start with Forest Lodge. First, they are, hands down, deserving of a five star star review. I’ll organize my thoughts into the planning and the day of execution:

Planning:

Scott, the banquet and event manager, gave us an exceptional level of service throughout our planning process. My husband and I live in California so we were planning everything from far away. We visited Forest Lodge in person on a few different visits to NJ, but we mostly interacted with Scott remotely. He got on the phone with us multiple times to work out details for our wedding and facetimed with us a few times to show us elements of the venue so we could envision certain details.

The actual venue is gorgeous. The outdoor area where weddings take place is a beautifully manicured garden area that doesn’t need any additional flowers (in my opinion). There is a beautiful deck that leads out from the banquet room to the garden where they set up a beer and wine bar for the reception (which was awesome for guests to have a separate place to grab a drink). The banquet hall is very classy with clean, sophisticated lines. Our party of 160 fit easily.

Day of execution:

I was assigned a helper for the day (Abby, who was such a calm and positive presence, I felt so lucky) who stayed by my side from the first look until the ceremony. Scott handled everything else to the T, which such a high level of professionalism we got multiple compliments from our family and friends about him and his staff.

The food: the food was amazing. We were a little skeptical because we weren’t able to do a tasting in advance; however, I read through every Forest Lodge review I could find, and everyone only had positive things to say about the food. My favorites were the crab cake and coconut shrimp. I dream about them.

Unfortunately, it decided to ran precisely during the time when we would be outside for our ceremony. This was my only down point of the day. However, once we knew we were going to do it inside, Scott and his team set up everything super quickly and the evening went pretty much seamless. Even though my ceremony wasn’t how I envisioned it, it was actually really intimate because all of the guests were already in their seats and there weren’t any distractions. After our ceremony the rain stopped and the staff reopened the outdoors area. Note: we had the option of putting a tent over the deck area in case of rain; however, because the forecast was only 30-50% chance of scattered T-storms, we opted not to do it. If it’s not too risky, I recommend this as the deck is a really beautiful area to be out in open air.

I just had my wedding at Forest Lodge in the Sherwood Chalet room this past Saturday and everything was PERFECT! We had about 125 guests at our wedding. I want to start out by saying I like the flexibility of Forest Lodge where you could pick a theme and hit the ground running with it! I liked the laid-back ambiance at Forest Lodge and it is perfect for any event. Scott Dublin was my Maître d' and he was professional, detail oriented and extremely easy to work with. Linda Tyler was the owner and she was also great to work with and very responsive.

Although the weather was not exactly on our side (it rained/drizzled that evening), nevertheless, my guests enjoyed cocktail hour indoors. There bar service was on point with two bartenders and my guests raved that they did not have to wait to receive drinks at my open bar wedding. Cocktail hour, dinner service, and dessert all flowed smoothly with their waiting staff. We did a sit-down dinner and the food came out at perfect times. The food was delicious, and our wedding cake/pastries came from the amazing Bovellas bakery (Mountainside, NJ location).

Forest Lodge offered the option of having a ceremony at the venue itself in the beautiful outdoor space; however, we chose to get married in a nearby Roman Catholic Church (Our Lady of the Mount) that is literally 3 minutes down the road. I then made my guests check into a nearby hotel (Marriott at Basking Ridge, NJ) and set up a shuttle bus service to pick up my guests and bring them to Forest Lodge. We also had shuttle service to return them to the hotel after the event was over. Please note that there is plenty of on-site parking.

The layout of the room was great. It had smart lighting that could be adjusted to fit any color that one desires. There is also good size dance floor inside the Sherwood chalet. The outdoor space was beautiful with a good size patio for guests to mingle, a white beautifully decorated white gazebo for pictures and a fire pit where one can relax.

Scott and Linda also went above and beyond. They allowed us to create recommended bar drinks for my guests to try out at the wedding—we did a craft beer for my husband and I chose the classic Moscow mule.
