Deanwood Road Test Office — Attraction in Washington

I passed my road test on April 12, 2024. I went to checkout and I was told that I need to provide more documents my DS-19, passport, i797. Although I had my valid -learner driving lisecse, -valid work permit.

I was told in the email that I would 'only' need my learner liscence and my ID which I had.

It took me total 6 hours to come to dmv (1421 Kenilworth Avenue Northeast) the first and second day.

When I came the next day April 13, 2024, I was told again that I need to bring more documents as my proof of residence, otherwise they would not issue me the liscence. And they handed me a list of accepted documents which was 'not' given on the when i scheduled the road, nor on the first day and which they should've told me over the email or on the checkout on first day.

Although I asked them twice and very explicitly the 1st day that are these the only documents needed and not anything else.

The second day when everything was done and they had issued me the liscence, I asked them again please make sure that everything is correct and complete and don't make me come again the 3rd time.

I asked them can you check that picture is correct and it meets all the requirements. I asked this because when i was issued the learner's permit at Georgetown DMV, I was called again just because the picture was not taken properly and there was some glare in it. And as expected, this time again the picture taken was not correct and they took my picture many times somewhere between 5 to 8 times. Had I not asked them to check my picture, which was their job, I would have been called again 3rd time.

That is not it. They took around at least 1.5 hours and 4-5 staff to issue and process my liscense and during this whole time I was standing at the counter # 5 ticket no c128.

Also, the staff member had close to none understanding of what she was doing. She would call every other staff member every other minute to assit her in the next step and to make her understand the system.

This was so unprofessional, inconsiderate, and I was not compensated, accomodated for the waste time,...

11/16/2016. 1 :40 pm I arrived at the Department of Motor Vehicles. I proceed to go to the booth where there was a middle age African American female. She said, " I called the number, you didn't come." Confrontationally, also she said, " I'm confused," She handed me a peace of paper and yelled at the man behind me disrespectfully. I quoted about three words of the definition of what Civil libertys are. The female started screaming aggressively and the "special police," were there. She slapped the table with her right hand. The special police touched me, I said," Don't touch me," I tried quoting the law but they did not want me to say the law. READ CAREFULLY: So I was ready to begin my toad test today and was looking forward to a friendly and even-tempered instructor to come to the car. UNFORTUNATELY....who arrived at the car to begin my road skills evaluation. He was very tense and had a bad vibe from the very beginning. The first thing he says to me is DON’T BREAK ANY DC LAWS AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE. I don’t believe that this should’ve been the first thing you say to a student who is paying US DOLLARS..no matter the amount...to trust the service here.

Hence, everyone else who is employed at this location is very nice! THAT MAN SHOULD THINK ABOUT FINDING EMPLOYMENT SOMEWHERE ELSE where he doesn’t interact with the public in an environment where extreme focus and safety is the number one priority. As the driver taking the test I am already nervous and the added unnecessary tension from this guy was not needed.

I just want to make sure that I posted this review because if it was someone who was really a nervous a wreck then something unsafe...
