We made the mistake of heading north to get to the beach - be warned that it's a considerable hike. There's a creek between the parking lot and the beach that you have to walk all the way around. The Google Maps marked trail and the satellite view of where the creek is are misleading. The creek has shifted much further north than where it appears on the satellite image, which adds much more to the hike than we were expecting. Instead of going north from the parking lot I'd suggest going south, there's a pedestrian bridge across the creek at the end of Heath Rd that takes you over to the beach, it's like 1/4 the distance compared to going north. Read moreSo, be prepared for about a 15-20 min walk through sand dunes with plenty of thornes to get to this beach. If you park at the beaches parking lot it's quiet a trek. Trying to bring kids and a bunch of 'day at the beach items' is a real pain. You have to cross a bridge and follow several primitive paths like I said, to get to the beach. Once their it's nice. Lots of old logs pieces and crab shells as us usual up here in the PNW. You'll see lots of dogs up here which we love, but does increase the chances of getting hook worms. It's ok. Not the best not the worst. I'd say if your a large group and are bringing kids.... There are several other beaches in the vicinity that a trillion...
