This is an awesome hike that takes you down a fairly steep trail to a unique access spot by the water. At the bottom there are two small beach areas and a rocky peninsula with great views. The trail does cross an active railroad track, so definitely keep an eye on kids. There are several switchbacks, and while the hike is short, the climb back up is no joke—it’s steep and will get your heart pumping. Not the easiest trail, but the scenery and water access make it well worth the effort.

We love Teddy Bear Cove. It is a short hike down with great views and a fun beach to swim at. This time, there was lots of starfish and crabs. However, we discovered thousands of rusty nails sticking up between rocks all along the beach. We began to gather them in a gallon sized zip lock. Eventually, we had to leave because we realized we would never be able to get them all. We are left wondering how these all got there. Please, use caution when you are at Teddy Bear Cove.

No signs posted for parking here at Teddy Bear Cove but it was enough for a handful of people enjoying the beach cove. Trails were maintained and even bumped into a ranger on the way back up, making sure rules are being followed. As well as LNT, picked up beer can and bottles of water left at the beach from past hikers. Let's keep our trails and nature clean so we can all enjoy raw beauty of what nature truly was before man.
