I was at the meadows last night for an emergency night scenario for National Outdoor Leadership School as part of my Wilderness First Responder class. I was put in a group where we had to conduct first aid on two people after a snow hike gone wrong; one acting with a broken leg (including a massive open wound) and another one under the impression of a seizure. It was 10 degrees that night and my hands and feet were freezing. I have to help stabilize the patient's head while the others improvised to to create a splint for his leg and tending his wound with clothes soaked with warm water. Then I had to tend the other patient who had a seizure by stabilizing her neck. I was told to check on the patient with his leg broken/lacerated and secure it with the improvised splint. Overall, the scenario night experience was challenging/ but a learning experience. We even managed to hike through the trees near the meadows, though it was difficult to traverse the place with deep snow. I would visit the meadows next time to see what it is like...

A gently sloping hill, good for the kiddies and such. Lots of moguls and post-holes so watch out! Do everyone a favor and take your broken sleds home with you and toss them in the bin there. It's tempting to park at the base of the hill if a space is available but I watched a kid on a sled T-bone a truck at full speed. Maybe parking a little ways away from the sledding hill is worth the walk? Also, stay out of the road. Lots of people get hit by cars up here. Just keep your wits about you and your head on a swivel and you'll be fine. A snack/ice cream truck showed up and they take...

I rode part of the TRT earlier in the week to the connector and down the flume trail after biking up to the TRT trailhead from incline village🥵🥵🥵. Note: you can’t pay for parking until 0530. Came back today with my son so we could walk into one or two of the vistas of Lake Tahoe. We walked in 2 mikes…in flip flops like a couple of morons to a great spot. Sat a spell and walked back out. Plenty of traffic on a Saturday. Bikes today too since it was an even day. Bikes only allowed on even days. Gotta share the trail! Amazing sights and...

I love this trail, it's so well kept. The first part is board walk, the rest is dirt trail. I was on it beginning of october and there were a few small patches of snow to be seen. There are no steep or difficult bits and there are some beautiful views. A couple of technical bits for mountain bikers but 98% easy with a steady incline. The bottom of the trail is most exposed to the wind. Some of the trail is exposed to the sun so take a hat.
