I was at the meadows last night for an emergency night scenario for National Outdoor Leadership School as part of my Wilderness First Responder class. I was put in a group where we had to conduct first aid on two people after a snow hike gone wrong; one acting with a broken leg (including a massive open wound) and another one under the impression of a seizure. It was 10 degrees that night and my hands and feet were freezing. I have to help stabilize the patient's head while the others improvised to to create a splint for his leg and tending his wound with clothes soaked with warm water. Then I had to tend the other patient who had a seizure by stabilizing her neck. I was told to check on the patient with his leg broken/lacerated and secure it with the improvised splint. Overall, the scenario night experience was challenging/ but a learning experience. We even managed to hike through the trees near the meadows, though it was difficult to traverse the place with deep snow. I would visit the meadows next time to see what it is like...

Plenty of traffic on a Saturday. Bikes today too since it was an even day. Bikes only allowed on even days. Gotta share the trail! Amazing sights and...
