If only there were more drive-in movie theatres like this still operating! You need to have cash to pay at the gate as you drive in: $12 for adults and $9 for kids. Once in, you park where they tell you. We arrived about 45 minutes before the film started so our parking spot was not too far back. I guess if you get there later you’d be given a place further back. At first we parked the car forwards (towards the screen) and set up our camping chairs in front, but we quickly realised that we’d be too low for the screen. More experienced pros were parking backwards, so we turned the car around and set ourselves up looking out from the boot. The staff even come around and tie your boot at a specific height so that people behind you can see. To hear the audio of the movie, you can either clip a loudspeaker onto your car window, or tune in the radio to the right frequency. We did both. We were there in late summer but once the sun went down it got pretty cold and we wished we had brought blankets. We did bring our own food, but there is also a café serving hot food and drinks. Having watched movies since childhood where movie-goers go to drive-in movie theatres, this was a great experience for us. It was great fun and we would definitely go again if we were anywhere near Wellfleet.
