We have been to this Church many times in the last 20 years. We live close by but were never members. My husband and I were for the most part different backgrounds with religion until recently, so it was nice here to come to worship as a family sometimes, so we wouldn't feel so divided. A lot of people from different church backgrounds feel comfortable worshiping here or at one of their smaller campuses. A great deal of Catholics I grew up with go here. Most people will not feel offended, everyone is welcome. Doesn't matter what your beliefs are, if you are conservative/liberal, if you know theology or your Bible. ..This is a mega church but has a community feel. If you get involved in classes or special events, you will get to know people. Likely you will run into someone you know. It is a very casual place and not for everyone. Smoothies and lollipops in church? I have seen it. It is a good place to go if you do not have a church home, just to attend church or for those who really want to get involved. They have free breakfast on Sundays and one evening a week they have dinner with a community outreach for a free item a family or individual might need. They are good at making a big impact because they are so large. If you are a member of a small church that isn't doing much in the community, look here, they likely would welcome your help...cookie ministry for the homeless, filling bags of food for those in need, so many options. It helped fill a need for our...

Read moreI grew up in an agnostic or atheist family. I'm not exactly sure which - as we never really had the discussion. I just know Mom doesn't believe in God, or life after death. I have been invited to many churches, but found them to be very strict in their practices and traditions. For example, I attended a few churches that would not allow me to take communion because I'd not been baptized in their church (but I had been baptized when I was 19.) I was also forbidden from communion because I was divorced. I felt alienated and guilty because of my divorce and being a single parent. My first visit to Hope was Easter Service 1999, and I am still going, weekly. It is a big church - however it is filled with thousands of smaller churches. All you have to do is get involved. I participated in Women's Bible Studies; served as a shepherd leader for both of my girls Wednesday eve and Sunday School classes for 7 years, facilitated small groups. You get to know people just by attending... and you are welcome. ALL SINNERS ARE WELCOME. We have wonderful Pastor's throughout - as led by the dynamic Pastor Mike. He is a great example and leader to all who minister to us at Hope. Please come - ALL...
