This hike was lovely and a must-see for any visit to Glacier National Park, but ironically, not for the namesake of the hike. St. Mary's Falls is gorgeous and captivating, but the same trail continues on to Virginia Falls which is the true gem of this short but sweet adventure. Furthermore, there are several small and unnamed falls scattered throughout the hike past St. Mary's Falls on route to Virginia Falls. If I had the time, I could have sat and absorbed the Virginia Falls for hours.
This hike is also very accessible for young children. My 7 year old was able to complete the hike easily and was in complete awe with the reward of Virginia Falls at the end. I can't wait to come back in a few years to...
Read moreThis was a very fun hike. I really enjoyed it. The waterfall was very beautiful. Make sure you get there early in the morning to ensure parking. We got there at seven and it filled up by eight. Also be careful on the wood bridge since I got a splinter. I would definitely come back here because the falls are super pretty and you can go swimming in the river. Just be careful. The views are amazing. The trail is very busy. Once you’re there, there’s a lot of great places to sit and have a snack and enjoy the view! It is also in bear country so be careful for bears because some people saw them we didn’t, but I would still be careful and...

It was a popular spot, and the day was HOT, and lots of people were jumping into the water. The water is from glaciers, so it is clean and COLD. It felt great to jump in on a hot day. When people jump in, they say it is “fresh” when they really mean “freezing balls cold.” It is the coldest water I’ve ever felt in my life, but we felt refreshed and clean afterwards. We actually jumped in at the Redrocks area, not at St....
