West Haven Public Boat Ramp — Attraction in West Haven

Great place, it's small but just what is needed.

There is a beautiful view! Even at night time, which is when I went, you can see the water, the city lights. With the sound of the water flowing below you, in the open area, its very calming and refreshing.

It's completely open, so it's not a place where you would want kids, they can fall right into the water.

Looks like a great place to go fishing too, there was a bucket there when I went, with some fish presumably someone left it there from his fishing...

Landseair(Tierramaraire) First time doing a sunset kayak on the Long Island Sound!!! I wouldn't have done it anywhere else on the shoreline. Fun fact: Even though the first Connecticut shoreline place I ever visited was Stamford Harbor back in 2012, the first wharf(2017) and 1st beach(2019) I ever visited on the CT shoreline was in New Haven! Only bad thing about the ramp is the awful smell from the water treatment plant...

We took our seafood and ate by the water in our car. The ramp has a large lot half paved and half dirt , with two park benches by the edge of the grass that separates the lot from the beach. If your ok with a bunch of seagulls around you the boat ramp is a nice chill spot and much closer to sea edge to enjoy a up close and...
