Schrader Environmental Education Center — Attraction in West Virginia

This center is truly a treasure for West Virginia and the Panhandle! There is always something interesting, inviting, and incredible happening. You can learn about everything from life cycles to the local environment. You are able to see actual nature right before your eyes through their beautiful windows that showcase bird and squirrel feeders. You can stroll on their wildlife platform that juts into the forest and use their provided binoculars to see for miles! They have arts, crafts, classes, shows, and a small store with handcrafted items to purchase which supports local artisans and the center. This is a must experience place...

The nature exhibits are informative, with many of them interactive or geared toward children. The floor to ceiling windows let you look out on the woods, maybe spotting some wildlife. Just outside of the building are hiking trails that let you get closer to nature.
